"RestPoll: Restoring pollinator habitats across European agricultural landscapes based on multi-actor participatory approaches” is an EU-funded project
🎉RestPoll partners from Freiburg, Germany, have completed their field season for this year's spring and summer. Partners monitored pollinators at implementation sites to assess how these implementations are helping pollinator communities. Thank you for the great work!👏 #FieldWork #RestPoll

Butterflies may be one of the quickest ways to tell if habitat restoration is working. A new study found that restored farm habitats boosted butterfly richness and abundance within a year 🦋 📚 Read more here: Favarin et al. 2026, Restoration Ecology, DOI: 10.1111/rec.70314
Honeybees help with honey production AND crop pollination! However, wild bees also play a vital role in supporting biodiversity and crop production. Protecting managed and wild pollinators is crucial for food stability and biodiversity. #PollinatorRestoration #Honeybees #WildBees #RestPoll

📢Day 2 of #VALORmeets2026 is underway! The morning session opened with Bethan Henderson (@unepwcmc.bsky.social), who shared insights from a user needs study on pollinator tools, conducted with @restpoll.bsky.social. She further reviewed the ENCORE tool, including potential future development. 🛠️🐝
👉73% of globally traded crops depend on pollinators. 👉36% of global food production depends on pollination. At VALOR AGM1, @naturealexk.bsky.social presented updates to the crop pollination dependence database and plans for its upcoming publication. #VALORmeets2026
👉 At #VALORmeets2026, Maureen Page (University of Freiburg) presented the work on identifying key European pollinators, focusing on synthesising current knowledge on the most abundant visitors of crop and wild plants. She shared plans for data gathering and early ideas for the analysis.
Next presenting at VALOR AGM1 is Carlos Ruiz (University of La Laguna). He reviewed the vulnerability of pollination services across different European biogeographic regions. Work done i scope of Work Package 2: Synthesising knowledge on the role and status of pollination services #VALORmeets2026
