Fighting the UK’s harsh family immigration rules: the Government can't dictate who we can love in the UK Join us to say: Families Belong Together! www.reunitefamiliesuk.co.uk hello@reunitefamiliesuk.co.uk

As the weekend begins, many of us are looking forward to spending time with the people we love. We're also thinking of those spending another weekend apart from loved ones/family - hoping for the day they can be together. ❤️ What's your favourite way to spend quality time with loved ones? 👇

In case there was any doubt. Restricting access to benefits isn't enough for Conservatives/Badenoch. They want to deport/"remigrate" people who came here on legal work visas, not because of (debunked) claims about benefits/fiscal costs but because they've embraced an openly ethnonationalist agenda

Today Nigel Farage announced he's standing down as MP for Clacton, forcing a by-election he's framing as "the people vs the establishment" over his financial dealings. But that framing misses the real story entirely. 🧵

As we reflect on Keir Starmer's resignation, we can't help but think of what we see as one of his biggest failures: the inability to recognise the contribution people born abroad have made and continue to make to the UK. 🧵

This Father's Day, we remember thousands of dads separated from their families by the UK's harsh visa rules: stuck abroad because their partners in the UK cannot meet the requirements or unable to bring their family to the UK. So we ask children what their Daddy means to them?

Last night Andy Burnham's victory in the Makerfield by-election with a commanding majority give us a bit of hope: For once, the anti-immigration voices and their divisive arguments have been defeated. But we can't rest yet. Should Burnham become PM, we need him to hear us clearly.

It was never really about jobs/crime/welfare benefits etc. @pkrugman.bsky.social's discussion of MAGA's real motives - cruelty and racism - applies almost verbatim to much the anti-immigration right here in politics/media/online paulkrugman.substack.com/p/pogroms-am...

Pogroms, American Style

The Trump administration’s attack on immigrants isn’t about rule of law, crime or jobs. It’s racism and sadism all the way down

For countless families, half term means time together: a short trip, quality moments with the kids, a chance to breathe. But for families separated by the UK's spouse visa rules, it's just another painful reminder of the happy moments those rules steal from them. A short 🧵

🧵 1/2 Imagine doing this alone For families separated by spouse visa rules, this is reality — especially for those with children who have medical or additional needs Appointments missed Sleepless nights Juggling job and childs complex needs — carried by one parent alone

🧵 1/3 💔 Growing old together shouldn't be a privilege but in the UK it is Spouse visa rules aren’t just affecting families & young couples Older partners are being forced to choose to: ➡️ Leave everything behind [home, family, healthcare] to be together elsewhere or ➡️ Live apart in later life
