I suspect anyone who's worked at a major studio in a full-time capacity has encountered these clauses, which seem oddly self-defeating in how they prevent employees from bettering themselves outside the confines of the workplace—and subsequently sharing that knowledge with their peers.

In October last year I was fired by Rockstar Games in what we believe was a union busting move. We lost our home. We lost 2 jobs with my partner being forced to resign. We lost a community. Most importantly however we had to leave our two dogs behind, one of which will never return.

Back in October, Rockstar Games fired 34 employees for alleged gross misconduct. The severity of these firings could have spelled the end for a burgeoning union effort that was underway, but it didn't. In fact, the union is now *bigger* than it's ever been before. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ym4z...

It is a country that has done its best to heal despite the efforts of those in power to keep old wounds festering. The story of the people of Northern Ireland is one of fighting and scraping to make this place better for everybody while repeatedly being kicked in the head and ignored.

Getting a lot of eyeballs at the moment, so, if you’ve also announced an indie game recently, reply here and show off your wares with a trailer. If you’re reading this later, go checkout these games and get them wishlisted (you know, just like you’ve already wishlisted Vampirium: 1997)

Considering how much worse life has gotten for SO many since 2024, this makes me so angry I'm a bit nauseous from it. How dare you co-opt this language, Keir Starmer. You have made nearly every choice possible to drive us away from these ideals.

You inflamed division though. If this ‘Labour at its best’ in ‘uniting the country’ that’s a real worry. Dear me what a sorry little piece this is.

But in a society that must confront the politics of online division, I also believe this is a cause that will unite the country. It is more than a shared value, it's a British ideal. We all want a country where everyone, no matter their background, feels they are respected for who they are. And we all want a country where children can go as far as their talent and effort will take them.
This is Labour at its best. And so while I have absolutely no intention of offering up advice for my successor, on this one issue I will break that vow: this is a cause they should take up as their own.
