The most terrifying enshittification I've discovered has been learning that Microsoft Word documents no longer auto-save if you are not saving them to one of their own proprietary cloud services. I'm slapping control-S like it's 1999.

What I somewhat hope is that when this charade is finally over, middle of the road voters will be so pissed they’ll go vote against a Republican at the midterms just out of spite. I think I’m projecting my own frustration at these theatrics but one can only hope.

Mitch McConnell’s communications director’s silence and smirk speak volumes. If he were fine, or even improving, she’d just say so. There’s no way this man is coming back.

What’s your concert history? - first concert: Megadeth (1997) - latest concert: QOTSA (catacombs tour 🥰) - next concert: Spiritbox + Jinjer ❤️ - favorite concert: Megadeth at Graspop in 2001. Annex stage, unexpectedly motivated to prove themselves 🤯 Seen most: Dream Theater, or Porcupine Tree (?)

Dear EU - instead of writing hundred-pages guidance to Google to ensure their OS becomes a security nightmare with AI Agents, can we focus on actual issue and - I don’t know - force electronics manufacturer to have a real “no ad pop up messages, ever, on my thing” setting?

honestly, fuck LG for adding these notifications at startup on their TVs. I had every option for promotions disabled in the system settings, but they added new ones through the built in apps. I’ll never ever own anything LG ever again.

The Internet of shit: my wife went to a site that looked perfectly legit to do that stupid ESTA thing for the US. They charge you (after you have input your card info) $180. Actual price going through the ESTA.org website: $40. Why do governments tolerate those scammy sites.

Watching Raya the Last Dragon again (in tiếng Việt, at the request of our 4 year old 🥲) and am reminded that this is still the only Disney production dubbed in Vietnamese and that I’d be so much keener to see a Raya 2 rather than a Moana 3. Alas 😞

But do I really hope Meta gets bitten by this. Come the fuck on. At best the humans in HR who validated the output of their AI tool severely lacked judgement. At worst the AI made the decision and this should be a cardinal sin for any company.

Dear politicians: you do not, in fact, have to find something positive to say about a deceased political figure if they didn’t have good morals. Even from a purely transactional point of view, being nice to a person your electorate perceives as a piece of shit is not a winning move!

@petebuttigieg.bsky.social reflects on Lindsey Graham's passing with @timmiller.bsky.social: "I did not agree with him on much. But I will say, he was the kind of senator who figured out how to do deals. And one of the deals he worked on was the infrastructure bill, which I appreciated."

Lyndsay Graham dead at 71, what a loss! A propos of nothing, im also reminded that RFK Jr is 72. What a shame it would be if misfortune was to strike twice.
