Something I found with the DK challenge is that the tasks highlight the best of the 'classic' games, and the worst of Bananza. Trying to make #Bananza an arcade challenge just frustrates. #Nintendo #DKChallenge

Video games, Cycling, Kyoto, Cats. Once built a real working Arwing. Super Scram Kitty OUT NOW!
I recall *so clearly* my schoolfriend Nathan teaching me that you should blow bubbles into the wall at the end of the stage (so they instantly pop) to get more points. Must have spent hours of my life simply doing that. A true classic. #BubbleBobble #Arcade

Mike & Rami are Still Here's Develop LIVE chaos D&D-ish session in which I roleplayed 2010 Rami trying to pitch a game in 2026 led to @moonmode.com actually making the game. It's called "I love dog", you can play it now, and it's a game with sokoban crates, dogs fighting for love, and multipliers.
We Invented I LOVE DOG. Now it's REAL.

"Indies will save us" No! YOU WILL SAVE INDIES! Go leave a review for that neat indie game you like, share the trailer for an upcoming game you're anticipating, tell your fave developer they did a good job, go tell people about such and such game that's just come out, you can make a difference!
Hey. It's my birthday (source: howoldisjamesparker.com), so I would really like it if you: a) Bought 2 Fights 2 Tight Spaces or b) Wishlisted 2 Fights 2 Tight Spaces or c) Told other people to do either a. or b. store.steampowered.com/app/3734890/...

We're all going to be Emily Wilson when the Zelda movie comes out. :)
Scholar and translator Emily Wilson has once again criticized Christopher Nolan's adaptation of The Odyssey, this time taking aim at the epic film's interpretation of Zeus' law.
Rode past the old #Nintendo buildings today, and every time I'm down there it forces my mind into a profoundly distracted state spinning on how much of my life's direction was set by getting #Game&Watch Snoopy Panorama at age 6. Something about that hinge action, I guess. (still works)
I'm *super* annoyed about the gun-tlets. Incongruity incarnate. Other than that one (irritating) failure, I could really only be more excited for the new FE if it was coming in stereo 3D on 3DS.
this ain't your daddy's fire emblem
…And it’s hard to explain these ‘whoa!’ moments to anyone who’s grown up taking 3D camera control in general for granted. It was like your favourite pop-up book had come to life, and you could peer around the corners into previously hidden worlds.
It's easy to take Super Mario 64 for granted, but back when it came out, people were still wrapping their heads around concepts like 3D cameras! Watch this clip of someone learning how to use the C Buttons at E3 1996. "Whoa."
Watching these ants frustratedly try to navigate the leaves on my fishbowl gives me strong PS1-era platformer flashbacks.
The Gadget Workshop music in #SplatoonRaiders is *perfect.* Worth the price of entry alone. Could be right out of a Goemon game, delightful Okinawan tones. Looooove. This. Game.
Honestly, this is one of the best executed ideas for a website I’ve seen in a long time
This is kind of an incredible website: Why your stuff stopped lasting, who profited, and what's still built right.
This is an all-timer. Absolutely essential reading.
Today we have something special: a newly translated interview from July 1996 between Shigeru Miyamoto and Kenji Eno! Conducted just weeks after the launch of Mario 64, Eno takes Miyamoto to task (in a friendly way) with several fascinating critiques of its design. shmuplations.com/miyamotoxeno/
