We've been travelling through Europe on night trains since S. was 1 - tried different routes & operators (Paris-RIP, Brussels, Amsterdam, and Stuttgart to Wien, using Eurostar / Hull ferry) with some hiccups (and delay repay), but overall great experiences... (Utrecht city break photos below)

Having chatted to my MP at a local community festival just yesterday, I'd reiterate this: raise your concerns, explain the scale of the problem, point out universities are important local employers *and* give a lot in non-economic terms too - the more support we start to gain, the better

Oof. Missed this the other day. By our measure Nottingham is the UK big city most reliant on the universities for local 'knowledge' jobs. One in four of all of these high skilled jobs in the city are academic and non academic staff in higher education. Could be a big blow
