The 40-hour work week. The weekend itself. Lifesaving safety standards. Organized labor has changed our country for the better. This Labor Day, we recognize the achievements of our unions and the workers who make the American way of life possible.

ProPublica reviewed the court records for more than 70,000 habeas petition cases and found that judges in some parts of the country take far longer than others to decide whether people with no criminal record should be detained by ICE. See our full list: https://propub.li/46ejybx

Excerpt of a searchable table titled "How long do habeas cases take in different judges' courtrooms?" The description reads: "Among judges who have been assigned at least 50 habeas cases during the second Trump administration, the median time for a case to be closed varies widely." The table is organized into columns, from left to right: judge (appointed by); district; total cases; and median days to close. For example: The top judge, Charles Goodwin, is a Trump appointee in the Western District of Oklahoma, with 169 total cases and 144 median days to close a case. Most of the top 9 judges shown were appointed by Republican presidents and are in red state districts. They all take a median 92 days or longer to close habeas cases.

Increase in productivity since 1979: 93% Increase in hourly pay since 1979: 34% Just so happens that ~25% of workers were unionized in 1979. Today? 10%. As unions declined, the super-rich have taken a larger share of wealth generated by labor. We must build back union power.

NEW: Over the “strongest possible” objections of a federal prosecutor handling the case, Trump DOJ officials quashed plans to bring civil rights charges against an ICE agent accused of shooting a Venezuelan immigrant and then lying about it.

Some of the biggest recipients of tax breaks in 2025 were these six corporations. Together they got $83 billion in federal tax breaks thanks in large part to the passage of the Trump-Republican Big Ugly Bill. Each are major players in the development of AI and data centers. Remember this.

My rogue government announces sanctions on the President of the International Criminal Court, and on a judicial nominee. This is deranged behavior by a permanent member of the UN Security Council.

1. Flock tracks and stores every passing vehicle, not just crime suspects. 2. Flock makes huge profits for itself and its investors by trading away our privacy. 3. Flock's tech is ripe for abuse — police officers have already been fired for using it to stalk women. Should we keep going?

Why Are So Many People Upset About Flock Cameras?

Flock Safety’s automated license plate-reading cameras, used by thousands of law enforcement agencies in the U.S., have drawn intense criticism from civil liberties groups.

How about a law that all Data Centers must operate entirely off grid using renewable energy. And another requiring their cooling mechanisms use only closed loop cooling systems. How about if taxpayers don't end up paying the bills.

Waking up to Sharia Law in NYC is crazy. Knicks won, crime is down, 2,000 toddlers are going to school for free, parents got “date night” with nyc babysitters, they’re building housing on city land, small businesses are saving money and selling ice cream. Its sunny out i should go get one.
