When I read the news nowadays I can't decide whether mankind is a) Having 'a bit of a turn', but will be OK. b) Dangerously impaired by some form of neurological degeneration & in need of urgent intervention. c) Simply fulfilling nature's inbuilt command to become extinct like any other species.
"2053: The Celtic Union of Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, Brittany and Cornwall announce plans to redevelop the remainder of what used to be a country called England into a recycling and sewage treatment facility."
🚨 NEW: The leaders of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland will meet tomorrow to sign a joint declaration for all three countries to gain independence from the UK
#NowPlaying Béla Bartók, like the life & soul of the party that I am. (I love the simple, geometric #graphicdesign of 1950s album covers)
7am. Living in Switzerland means getting used to opening your curtains in the morning and being confronted by people floating past your window in a basket.
Unfortunately, I wasn't even joking... #TheBeatles #YellowSubmarine
I started an exact recreation of The Bayeux Tapestry with only characters and designs from #TheBeatles' Yellow Submarine animated film... Fortunately, a voice in my brain intervened and screamed, 'What in god's name are you doing? This will take you years!' So, I've put it aside. For now.
Ah, workmen. Turned up. Spread out his tools. Tinkered for a couple of minutes. Said he had to pop back to his car for something... almost an hour ago.
#StarTrek is 60! Like a lot of kids from my generation, I had a Dinky Starship Enterprise, but lost the yellow, plastic 'phasers'; and a Mego Kirk, whose leg snapped off at the knee, so I turned him into pirate with a peg leg. In fact, all the legs of the Mego figures I had snapped off at the knee.
It's only 3 months old and it already feels like I've been listening to it for years, if not decades. #NowPlaying

How to be a Writer: Look into void Become increasingly convinced that void is not only looking back at you, but that it hates your novel Tea
I've started learning the grand old art of #lithography. First draft experiments below. I'll want to improve, of course, before I think about offering any limited editions.
I've been watching this my whole life. Talk about end of era. Final part. 70 UP. 15 Sept, ITV1, 9pm.
Fuckssake. Fell over in the street like a clumsy twat. A guy came over to ask if I was OK, and right away I could tell from the look on his face that he saw me as 'a feeble little old man, unsteady on his feet, who took a tumble'. That look hurts more than the cuts and bruises.
I tried this out as a northern Brit. Result: I'm nearly all New York/Boston with a bit of Buffalo. So, maybe all you East Coasters actually talk most like someone from Manchester. (We were here first, etc).
near 20 years in texas and i still got my northeastern roots mydialect.us/quiz-standar...
Sean Lennon is very closely related to former Beatle John's son, Sean.
Sean Lennon is a dad to former Beatle John’s first grandson
Space Oddity is looping in my brain today. Can't shift it at all. When I was young I genuinely thought he was singing 'shitting in a tin can'. Anyway, this is the only #Bowie record I own, and I only have it because someone generously let me have it. It was going in a skip otherwise! #NowPlaying

80 quid to own a physical copy. 80 quid to *borrow* a digital copy that can be revoked without warning. Ludicrous. They take people for idiots. And guess what, when you work for a game dev company, you better believe they make sure the contract states they own all your work.
Sony says "reasonable consumers" know they don’t own the digital PlayStation games they buy. It argues that it's "not plausible" to suggest that when they buy a digital game they actually believe they're "obtaining ownership" of it. www.videogameschronicle.com/news/sony-sa...
#NowPlaying Opus 1970 by Stockhausen. Recommended if you like a) Beethoven b) Listening to Beethoven inside a house that's being knocked down around you. archive.org/details/lp_o... #avantgarde
"You'll be reassured to know that I threw everyone else under the bus to protect my performance, even though I have the acting chops of a mackerel."
Gal Gadot defends starring in the ‘Bitcoin’ movie which features AI sets and lighting: “I did not want AI to have anything to do with my performance. We had to protect that […] The train has left the station. You’re going to work with it or be out of the game completely.”
The Night: Neighbour's baby screaming. Neighbour sings lullaby to baby at 180 decibels. Neighbour's dog barking. Baby. Dog and baby. Dog, baby, and dog #2. 3 min intermission. Neighbour snoring. Twat bellowing into their phone. Dog barking at twat. Baby screaming. 5:30am: I welcome the apocalypse.

Glastonbury 1990: (I turned down a job working behind the bar) Oscar Peterson Trio (couldn't afford it; turned out to be his final tour) Boards of Canada (I thought I'd catch them 'next time', unaware they'd never perform live again) Philip Glass (too tired and dithery after work)
How about this? Best concerts that you ALMOST got to see but DIDN’T. Include reasons if you like: Rolling Stones (play rehearsal) Johnny Cash (I dallied) R.E.M. (play performance) Nirvana (canceled, college declined to pay requested $500 appearance fee)
