There was a girl I liked named Dolores. She said, "When the violence causes silence, we must be mistaken." ICE agents are still doing evil. The Department of War is still doing evil. Silence isn't evil. But it's a mistake.

No DMs. I'm from the Central time zone. I like liking things. People are inherently good. I do theatre and film sometimes. I'm getting greyer and rounder, but that's okay.
The nighttime is ... potential. For all the things you might have thought you knew. Got a nighttime story?
I blame every classical composer since Bach for how fast piano keys are striking in my brain right now. Girls. Futures. Possibilities. Waking up in the morning. Cue the first movement if I should fall in love...? It could suck. Then, "Possum Kingdom" happens. What should I listen to?
The checkout girl at my grocery store. Maybe 19. Reading a copy of the novel Project Hail Mary. You go, kid.
Huh. I had this idea for Ariel in THE TEMPEST 25 years ago, but never considered it for Hamlet.
Just saw an interesting production of HAMLET where not only was Hamlet followed around by a chorus of Hamlets turning his monologues into verbal battles, but each of the lead actors took a turn as Hamlet as the show went on. As confusing as that sounds, it led to some transcendent moments...
Another one of my problems with this platform? So much of it is about shitting on people. I don't care if people don't like Brooke Shields' daughter. Get excited about what might drive change.
"Can I borrow a cup of sugar? I'm trying to get a hummingbird to drink out of my penis." #30Rock had some great one liners.
God, I wish Bluesky had a button to turn off AI slop. Even if I agree with the post, it's a shitty way to deliver a message.
I've had two people message me on Facebook messenger today asking me if I've started a new account. I'm clearly being spoofed. Time was, once upon a time, I would have immediately posted over there that I was being spoofed. Now, I can't be arsed. Bollocks Meta. #deprogramming
When I first saw High Fidelity, I really related to Rob Gordon. Now, a couple decades later, I still relate to him, but realize what a giant asshole he is.
Okay, you know those "Gimme 1 like and I will share a" nonsense pleas for engagement? Gimme 1 like and I will randomly choose one of the 435 members of the US House and write a short fiction about them.
My temp job is testing high school civics essays from an eastern seaboard state. It's illuminating. I score on a scale from 0-4. An embarrassing majority of what I score are zeroes. But some just make me ache: I am so tired i wanna go home out of time
Dammit, I try to be an ideologically pure dem, but Ainsley Hayes would kick my ass on Capitol Beat.
I saw the question, "What radicalized you?" and immediately thought, "My Mother was a professor of Library and Information Science. I read books."
I start a new online job on Tuesday. Tonight marks the third time in a month that Oklahoma weather has knocked out internet for extended periods of time. Dammit, Oklahoma, be cool. I've been working hard to get this.
So a weird thing about me: A girl I've been seeing, but to whom I have said I'm not able to marry her, just texted me, crying, because she made out with someone. And I didn't call her names or get mad at her; I told her I loved her and let's try to figure this out so that everyone is happy.

"He runs the country like a business" is a weird selling point when American business is now just about making shareholders rich and fucking everyone else.
For what it's worth? Fuck Trump. Fuck what he's done to my country.

I rather adore having a Dutch VPN. Their ads are delightful.
