I wonder when I'll stop being sad about the things my mom isn't going to be able to do. ...maybe some time after I sell off her WorldCon 2027 membership.

Honestly, I'd love to get a definitive answer about the Voynich Manuscript. Even if that answer is just, "this one monk had too much time on his hands and a vivid imagination, it was easier to give him a bunch of vellum rather than keep listening to his ramblings."

What's your personal great white whale of an unsolved mystery? The thing you desperately hope is solved before you die because you need to know the answer? Mine is the Isabella Stewart Gardener Museum heist. Where the hell are the Rembrandts. I need the full story

So last night I was apparently possessed by the sudden desire to sculpt an entire friggin ball joint doll, apparently. I stayed up until 1 AM to get this far, but I'm pleased so far! Any guesses who or what it's going to be?

Oh no, the Jessie Gender Starfleet Academy video keeps making me cry. Damn it. It's such a good show, and so much smarter more self-aware than I realized. I'm mad all over again that it got cancelled so quickly. ...but I guess that's better than watching Larry Ellison's version of it.

I am so very pleased to announce that my story, Takahata-fudo, is now out from Escape Pod! This story is my tribute to some of the less-touristy parts of Tokyo, and it could, if you squint, be considered part of the greater universe of the Shelter Trilogy.

Escape Pod 1054: Takahata-fudo

If you walk far enough along the old Keio line rail tracks to the west of the crumbling city, you eventually reach a steep hillside covered in blue and purple flowers, host to a beautiful wreck of a…

i'm really enjoying a lot of men on the internet discovering that greek mythology is like star wars lore amongst a certain subset of women and girls if you're allowed to argue about greedo for like 50 years let them talk about their thing and let it ride

Who knew the thing that would reinvigorate game shows as a genre would be a nigh-on antagonistic relationship between the hapless players and the joyfully sadistic imp of a host? Has anyone tried saying Sam Reich's name backwards yet?
