While we are in this Greek Mythology moment, may I remind you that Emma Thompson is adapting Pat Barker’s take on The Iliad, and she’s struggled to get it made bc the focus on what acts of war against women and survival thereafter actually look like (the core of Barker’s narrative) is too intense.

The actress told the Hay Festival she is writing a film version of Pat Barker’s The Silence of the Girls to draw attention to sexual abuse in war zones

Having served as a senior executive at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency and spent 16 years defending our democracy, I can tell you that if Trump were concerned about election security, he would not have fired hundreds of federal workers whose jobs were to secure our elections.

This one got into the burrs today, thankful I have a brush that pulls these right off her. She’s just the sweetest 💕. She’s going to see her actual birth mom for the first time in almost 2 years this week! I’ll keep you posted on what happens

This is my first morning home after 6 days of travel and I was worried the crows might not come when I whistled. It did take a little longer than usual but there is a family of crows hollering and eating peanuts again. Such smart little friends!

This little nugget filled with love turned 5 this past weekend. She’s smart, salty, a great jumper and ever-attentive to her humans. We went to a special Sniffspot to celebrate and then she got doggy ice cream afterwards. We are so thankful for every day we can spend with her! 🥰🌻

Quite the FLX day, start to finish. 6 am rim trail hike with the dogs at a local state park bookended by my favorite local fundraiser (Taste of the Finger Lakes) in Ithaca with friends. We watched a thunderstorm in the distance on the drive home, 85 degrees fireflies erupting the whole way

Taste of the FLX plates, it’s like a huge tapas bar The frilly stuff was delicious cheese!Hot air balloon overhead as we arrived It takes place at steamboat landing, home of the Ithaca Farmers Market on Cayuga Lake

Fall Creek Brass Band, second time outdoor so far this season. Live, outdoor music with a buncha queer friends I can love on fills me with the happy feels 🥰🎷🪊🎺🥰

One of the biggest honors of my life so far has been being seen as a trusted adult for my close friends teenagers. Queer, neurodivergent, emotionally tuned in kids saying “I love you” after a heart to heart that helps them navigate a hard situation with confidence/kindness makes me feel so lucky.

Crows sounded the warning that a cat was in the yard this morning. Total outrage! Our dogs caught on and lost their ever loving minds about it. Go team crowdog!

Planning to kayak out to an island and camp in Saranac Lake/ ADK’s next month- trying to find a backcountry sleeping mat for a side sleeper with 2 hip replacements. Nemo Tensor? Exped Megamat looks too big but DOES look comfy.
