Happy #kidlitartpostcard day. I’ve been drawing this firetruck a lot lately. I decided to give him a little postcard story. I’m an author and illustrator I enjoy working in board books, early readers picture books and comics. I’m hoping to break into graphic novels.

Happy to help! I will say, even though illustrators do not typeset their books after they’ve been acquired by a publishing house, studying typography, and lettering, and book design will lead to stronger dummies, which will increase the odds that they get acquired. :)

Vintage Golden Books usually have a letter on the last page near the spine which tells you what printing it is. I couldn’t find a letter anywhere on the Color Kittens. I even looked to see if it was tucked under the spine. @joshjlewis.bsky.social Any ideas?
I met all my deadlines so I decided to go on a vintage Little Golden Book hunt. Here’s what I found. All of these were had the same owner. The book “When I Grow Up” still had its original puzzle in the back.
