Think I Should Coco will be my number 1 for #5DebutAlbums9599 Supergrass were an underrated band, so tight, great musicianship (with the element of chaos) and brilliant songwriting. Saw them live again last year lots of fun

One I will struggle to leave out of my top 5 #5DebutAlbums9599 Word Gets Around by Stereophonics. Kelly's voice is up there with the best, Stuart Cable RIP one of my favourite heavy hitters, and its great lyrically. They only had 1 good album after this before they went shit and got more popular

A top 5 shoe-in for me is an artist I actually met and befriended at hypo-birthing classes when we were both about to have our first children. Benedict Benjamin, aka Ben Rubinstein, ex of Peggy Sue and Mariners Children. He's had 3 absolutely brilliant albums since 2016, his debut is Night Songs

My first gig in my new home town of Brighton and what a show!?! Freddy Forbidden and Boko Yout. Boko Yout put out my favourite album of 2025. The bands were excellent and the crowd were amazing. All the jumping about pushed my step count up to 34k..

Came to an artist in my #5debutAlbums0509 that reminded of how for a time during this period I found lots of new bands via MySpace. I discovered Kate Nash, Lily Allen, Arctic Monkeys and Little Boots. All of which had great debuts. Really enjoyed Little Boots videos with the Tenori-on

Vampire Weekend are an obvious one for #5DebutAlbums0509 Their self titled debut is packed with great songs. They are clearly brilliant songwriters and musicians. Blending afropop, punk, and orchestral chamber music with interesting lyrics.

#5DebutAlbums0509 today's band are one of my favourites and they reformed last year after splitting up in 2017 after 4 brilliant albums. The debut was great and is a definite contender for my top 5. The Maccabees - Colour It In.

Today's #5DebutAlbums0509 recommendation. Ladyhawke - s/t Didn't own this album back then but I was recommended it for these polls by my more dance/electro friends, but I actually know quite a few of the songs. Some great catchy bangers

I will have lots of recommendations for this period #5DebutAlbums0509 I was 24-28 and playing full time in a band. All I did was play or listen to music. Everything Is by Nine Black Alps. Heavy 90s grungesque rock with really catchy songs

Some great music during these 5 years, I worked through an 85 hour playlist, including the greatest debut album of all time. #5DebutAlbums9094 1. Oasis - definitely maybe 5pts 2. The La's - s/t 3. Radiohead - Pablo Honey 4. Ocean Colour Scene - s/t 5. Nas - illmatic

#5DebutAlbums9094 this was an unexpected one Gillian Gilbert and Stephen Morris from New Order - Other Two. I've only recently come round to NO, I was put off by his voice but I actually think this is better than NO and the Electronic album from this round. Her voice and the instrumentation is great

Track listing for the Other Two and You album

I love Ocean Colour Scene. The band have a shout at best drummer, bassist, guitarist and singer of 90s Britpop. 2nd album Moseley Shouls is a classic. I thought their debut wasn't great (the cover artwork is terrible) but it actually might just be a contender for my #5DebutAlbums9094 top 5.

Top ten favourite singers 1. John Lennon 2. Liam Gallagher 3. Johnny Cooke 4. Bob Dylan 5. Crispin Hunt 6. Steve Marriott 7. Laura Marling 8. Joni Mitchell 9. Karen O 10. Nina Simone

#5DebutAlbums9094 for me the greatest debut album of all time, Definitely, no maybes. Changed the course of my life at 14. Got to relive it again in 2025, shouting it out with my mates, arms around each other, a collective happening.

Oasis - Definitely Maybe tracklisting

Made a few discoveries in the last few years on social media of artists who don't look like Sabrina Carpenter and would have been gatekept out by A&R. One of those this year is Corook who is writing pop songs worthy of the top of the charts. She put out Commited to a Bit in Feb. #5albums25

#5albums25 An artist that has really caught my ear in the last 5 years and got me rushing to open Shazam every time she came on the radio is Lael Neale. Altogether Stranger is another great album. Will probably feature high up in my top 5.
