When blocking laws that make it easier for people to vote, the Supreme Court has repeatedly emphasized that courts can't interfere with voting rules close to elections. Weirdly, now that Trump is trying to take over mail-in voting 10 weeks before the midterms, the Court has forgotten all about it.

#BREAKING: Over dissents from the three Dem. appointees, #SCOTUS has *granted* the Trump administration’s request to freeze a district court injunction that had blocked the mail-in ballots executive order. But Trump’s EO remains blocked by a different injunction in a different case—at least for now:

A million times this! There is nothing this administration aims to do that I want anyone cooperating with. Only deploy violent armed masked thugs to kidnap abuelas four days a werk? Cut science by just 80%? Only pin five of the Commandments on the schoolhouse wall? Gimme a fucking break. No.

One thing Ossoff is showing that you can hold pretty normie Dem positions but still campaign like you can read the room and understand the high stakes of this election. People are incredulous and angry at what’s happening, maybe common ground is a necessity later but nobody wants to hear that now.

The only meeting Hakeem Jeffries should be having with Jared Kushner is to tell him he’ll be subpoenaed by the House for a corruption investigation on day one of Democratic control of the House. This is just pathetic stuff from the House Dem leader. www.nytimes.com/2026/08/23/u...
