The Nathusius' pipistrelle is one UK bat species that is known to migrate long distances across Europe. This makes them vulnerable to habitat loss and other threats across their migration routes.
Migratory species depend on networks of habitats. When these connections remain intact, they can move freely, ecosystems stay resilient, and natural processes that sustain life continue to flow. Participants at #CMSCOP15 will seek to maintain, restore & strengthen these networks: www.cms.int/cop15
Superbugs resistant to antibiotics are rising fast. I tested water at Lough Neagh (40% of Northern Ireland’s drinking water) & found high levels of antibiotic-resistant genes from human & livestock poo. If we treat waterways like sewers, this is what we get. www.theguardian.com/environment/...

Environmentalists decry ‘crushingly disappointing’ Pfas action plan for UK
Ministers’ proposals to tackle ‘forever chemicals’ fail to match tougher stance taken in Europe, say experts Environmental campaigners have criticised a “crushingly disappointing” UK government plan to tackle “forever chemicals”, which they warn risks locking in decades of avoidable harm to people and the environment. The government said its Pfas action plan set out a “clear framework” of “coordinated action … to understand where these chemicals are coming from, how they spread and how to reduce public and environmental exposure”.
