Two things about the latest AI publishing "scandal." 1. I'm worried we're getting into witch-hunt territory. Besides letting someone do a forensic analysis of your computer how do you prove you didn't use AI? 2. It's weird that this is happening almost exclusively to Black authors?

Currently watching the third season of the Daryl Dixon Walking Dead show on Netflix and it is astounding how many typos there are in the subtitles under the Spanish dialogue. Like, an embarrassing amount. It's fun living in a world where the more we pay for things, the worse they get.

My new fav thing to do when I get a robotext from the Dems asking for money is to reply "Fuck off." It unsubscribes you the same as typing "end", so clearly they were getting that response so much they had to program it in. I will give the Dems money when they earn it by doing literally anything.

You have some wonderful stories of basically getting away with stuff at the studios.

I’d learned one very simple trick: say yes. Simply say yes. Like Joseph E. Levine, on “The Producers,” said, “The curly-haired guy—he’s funny looking. Fire him.” He wanted me to fire Gene Wilder. And I said, “Yes, he’s gone. I’m firing him.” I never did. But he forgot. After the screening of “Blazing Saddles,” the head of Warner Bros. threw me into the manager’s office, gave me a legal pad and a pencil, and gave me maybe twenty notes. He would have changed “Blazing Saddles” from a daring, funny, crazy picture to a stultified, dull, dusty old Western. He said, “No farting.” I said, “It’s out.”
