There are many things to be discouraged about in our world, and I feel a strange sensitivity about the triteness of occasionally expressing joy in the midst of it. As if sharing hope or optimism denies those hard realities. But I sometimes also want to say: life can be good.

Unlike my first post, I now feel like I have some idea what I’m doing. “some”. This was a fun endeavour. I always loved my mom and mom-in-laws apple pies. Wanted to carry the traditional forward, so that inspired these attempts. Appreciated their tips along the way.
