Cat dad who is very passionate about his niche video games

Would’ve really liked to have played through 358/2 and Re:Coded but unfortunately i also want to play DDD and 3 and Control Resonant comes out in a little over a month and I WILL play it day 1. I haven’t been able to afford most game releases this year aside from RE9 but Control is the exception.

Speaking of KH2 the Re:Fined mod on PC is the definitive way of playing it. I don’t know why every single port of a ps2 game has to be compromised in some way but how many people do you think know they missed out on voice lines from Xemnas, Saix’s, and Luxord’s boss battles?

Haven’t really posted any clips from my KH2 Final mix run but I’m on birth by sleep now and good god this game is miserable to play on critical. I also am not a fan of the command deck at all

Hey all, a few days ago I had to take my cat to the emergency vet as he was showing weird behavior. It turned out he had an obstruction that wasn’t letting him pee. The vet said we caught it early but the price of the procedure drained me completely. If anyone wants to help I would appreciate it sm

Wondering what happened to that mid-00’s emo nerd who was really into Kingdom Hearts, FF7, FF8, FFX, and Dissidia specifically. But they weren’t into any of the 2D final fantasies bc they got into the series thru KH. They didn’t play about Crisis Core, Advent Children, or KH2. What are they into now

I'll take this as an excuse to reiterate. If you have an older machine that struggles on modern Windows, install a Linux distro like Steam OS or Cachy My GPU is ancient atp, but the only real bottle neck some games actually have now is VRAM Your rig is likely more capable than you know

Not going to QRT because idk the person and I don’t want to start a flame war but the reason why a lot of us are pushing people to PC ISN’T because we think Steam is better. But because it’s the only platform where you can still easily access games and own them forever through means of piracy.

I don’t even fucking want a physical version of Persona 4 Revival but that’s my favorite rpg of all time so I feel pressured to fucking buy it this sucks

It’s kind of insane that every game slated for release on PlayStation from now until 2027 will be the last physical release on that console ever. Wolverine is gonna be the last Insomniac game ever released on disc

Like many others, Sony ditching discs reminded me of that E3 2013 moment when two now-former PlayStation execs made a mockery of Xbox's convoluted digital gaming rights Xbox One plans by showing that you could share a PS4 game by simply handing it to someone But I'd forgotten about this...

Screenshot of PlayStation's E3 2013 press conference from the moment when PlayStation exec Jack Tretton showed a massive image labeled "Disc based games". Accompanying that are the lines: "Trade in games at retail" "Sell it to another person" "Lend it to a friend" "Or keep it forever."

i think another lesson to be taken from this playstation news is that it's seemingly impossible to run a video game publisher in america because all its economy does is incentivize growth above all else, which is how nintendo has apparently survived both video game crashes thus far

Another thought on this - storage space (ie - SSDs) have increased so sharply in price that storing digital games is becoming increasingly difficult and expensive. Discs are DIRT CHEAP to produce - so even if you have to install them, you have a physical, cheap solution right there.

I guess that's that then, huh? The end of buying games for PlayStation for me - at least, for the most part. I guess I'll still play some games from time to time but talk about destroying interest in a platform. Only Nintendo remains but for how long? blog.playstation.com/2026/07/01/p...

Remember when Sony did that DRM check shit a few months ago? With the death oh physical games that means that truly offline console gaming will be gone forever. They will always have to do a “check” to verify your “ownership”
