It's trans & intersex pride in Dublin on Sat. I'm going but I just feel so jaded. 10 yrs ago we'd the best gender rec in the EU & you could get healthcare in 6 weeks. Now there's been 10 years of stagnation on legal rec, no adolescent healthcare & 18 yr wait for the worst EU healthcare for adults. 🫩

Far right influencer Michael McCarthy knowingly and willfully uses his public platform to incite abuse and harrassment against others, and even to silence a journalist. I can prove it because I’m the journalist he silenced, and I kept screenshots of our messages. leftinthelurch.net/2026/07/06/i...

Been trying to free up some mental space for myself, last friday I finally finished a bit of work that Id been tipping away with for months trying to get done and Im so used to the guilt/oh god I need to get that done vibe that its weird today being like oh thats actually off the do list!

I notice the consequences of sf position on coursing is focused on voting /left credentials and not like.... the hares or the campaign to ban coursing. The value of assessing where someone stands on an issue is to establish is if they will support, be movable or actively work against. 1/

I disagree with the logic of this decision. I also note this reasoning isn't applied when discussing the decriminalisation of drugs so its also inconsistently applied. I don't understand the context of talking about being obsessed or it being a sensitive issue, I find those comments bizarre.

Sinn Féin is to vote against a hare coursing ban on the grounds that it would have "unintended consequences". Mary Lou McDonald says the party is "not obessed" with the issue, and she believes it doesn't decide "whether you're on the right or the left". www.thejournal.ie/sinn-fein-ha...

Why do why do people look for engagement on this site when they just want want to get ratty when you do. The increasing levels ofwell actually responses and weird low level hostile vibes even when your agreeing or building on someones point really putting me off engaging on here.

Folks may not have noticed, ILMI have moved off twitter and on to bsky so pls make sure to give them a follow and support orgs that have made the move to build their following here and reach more people with all the cool (disabled person led!) work going on in disability rights! #spéirghorm

I see the term DPOs (disabled persons organisations) being use by people who dont seem to understand what it means. A DPO is not just any group/campaign with a disabled person or with a disability related remit. They cannot be individual activists, they are definitely NOT service providers. 1/

Got a pack of some jacobs peanuty chocolatey biscuity thingys and pleasantly surprised to find that rather then a plastic moulding that exists only to deceive you on the amount yer getting, that my biscuits were in a cardboard insert of just the amount needed to protect them. More of this!

Oooh only couple days to go! Really excited about this! It will be class to meet up with reps from other local Disabled Persons Organisations and hear about all the cool stuff they are up to! #spéirghorm

For the 1st time, reps from #ILMI supported local #DPOs across Ireland will come together in one room to connect, share experiences, learn from each other and strengthen our collective voice. Months of organising, conversations and movement building have led to this moment. We're excited Can't wait!

Additional text highlights connection, sharing, learning, building, collective power and real change. The poster includes the messages "Our Movement. Our People. Our Future." and "This Is Our Time. Let's Build What's Next." with the ILMI logo at the bottom.

Question. Ye know the way its said we should bring unused/old meds to pharmacy to be properly disposed of. Is there like like an environmental or some actual reason that we should do this. Or if I go into to chemist would they be like why is this weirdo bringing me their rubbish? #spéirghorm

Irish Govt turns a deaf ear to environmental NGOs - perhaps it might pay more attention to the UN report on the impact of data centres in Ireland? Quite a different take on Minister view it's all'an opportunity' > #spéirghorm #DataCentres www.irishtimes.com/ireland/2026...

Ireland’s data centre strain a ‘cautionary tale’ for rest of world, UN says

Data processing accounts for 21% of Irish electricity use – compared to just 4% in the US and 1% in China

SF are the largest opposition party and topping polls. Why are so many ppl trying to convince me that such objective electoral success is failure! Feels as if the agenda of many doing so is to undermine the left and not to further the left things I critique SF on /want them to do better on.

Interesting the grace period allowed to the overpaid former ministers & that their agreement is sought. No such leniency shown to those on carers or disability payments, even when the overpayment is entirely the departments fault. €62,000 is around 5x the annual Disability Allowance. #spéirgorm

The Dail has heard of a "small number" of former ministers who have yet to agree a recoupment plan to address a mismatch between their pension contributions and the amount actually given. €62,000 was overpaid to those people, Jack Chambers said. All current ministers have agreed a recoupment plan.

There's a Lebanese family that lives near me. Their sister/sister-in-law and her family (in total nine people) were killed by an Israeli bomb a few days ago, and we're supposed to play football against the nation invading Lebanon and killing people indiscriminately as if this isn't happening?

My first time going for a job interview in like near 2 decades. Rare opportunity to work on a project on what I love for an org where I wont face disabling barriers. Im excited and very nervous! I guess whatever happens, its personally a huge deal I feel empowered to do this!

One of the most remarkable things about Ireland is how Fianna Fáil both consistently expect to be back in power after every election, and consistently govern like a party happy to leave its mess for the next government to clean up #speirghorm

Met someone in town today who was like Oh dont think ive ever seen you without a cap! im worried now people think I just have some obsessive fashion penchant for caps and not light sensitivity issues 😐between this and the heat I need to save up for good pair of sunglasses #spéirghorm
