Think what I love most about The Odyssey is that it reminded me of the 'magic' of film making. When so many parts are practical effects instead of CGI, that is truly impressive and awe inspiring.

A frequent but not guaranteed traumatised neurodivergent experience is rationalising someone hurting you by placing it in the context of the systems they exist in... rather than being justifiably angry or upset with someone who caused you harm.

Very distressing how often I interact with neurodivergent people who fundamentally don't believe they are deserving of having good things happen to them, or to seek out those experiences, or that they even deserve to like themselves. It's the bare minimum we deserve.

So fucking frustrating that CBT is advertised as the "best" solution for people with ADHD, when in my professional and personal experience, it often acts as a short term band-aid while often invalidating people's experience. Not all CBT is bad, but a lot of it is.

In the process of reading this, and will have a review. Caroline Maguire's first book for children "Why Will No One Play with Me?" is a resource often referred to by other coaches I work with, and it is great to see her work on one for adults which was highly requested.

A guide for the anxious, uniquely wired and easily distracted

Look as a trans person who has processed thousands of submissions as well as hundreds of OIAs, LGOIMAs, letters to the minister etc please do give parliamentary staff a chance to process these submissions before getting worked up. Just because the government sucks doesn’t mean public servants do.

The most effective productivity solution I managed to implement for ADHD, wasn't some system, it was addressing and repairing my constantly negative internal self-monologue. Because when you don't spend a lot of time ruminating and blaming yourself, you have time to achieve instead. This was hard.

Shit on AI a lot, but I am actually impressed at the podcast feature in Notebook LM to break down documents and make them into a podcast. It's the only resource I have seen that seems to get intonation right, and sound somewhat not-uncanny valley.

‘Polarization’ has become the master concept for diagnosing our current democratic crisis. But this is not polarization. It is the radicalization of the political right. By misdiagnosing it, we risk becoming complicit in the crisis. đŸ§” Just out in Perspectives on Politics doi.org/10.1017/S153...

"Any time in the last 20 years, Simon Baron-Cohen could have asked the autism community or looked beyond his own biases at the existing literature [
] but he was too busy being galaxy brained about autistic people." @ejwillingham.bsky.social on SBC, in our newsletter. buttondown.com/TPGA/archive...

Simon Baron-Cohen has entered the chat again

This time in a Guardian piece in which he (sort of) retracts some previous assertions about autistic people and tees up a new multimillion dollar project.
