The free pens from 123<whatever>.nl are such great marketing. They seem inescapable anywhere in the Netherlands.
Feel like I'm going crazy here. Didn't the government just spend a bunch of political capital passing an unpopular, overreaching Online Safety Act so that they could censor the internet? And now X is deliberately mass producing abuse content and they are going to do... nothing?
I am extremely confused as to why the UK government and police are saying Grok’s mass-scale CSAM generation is an issue for Ofcom. This isn’t about X failing to moderate CSAM, which is an Online Safety Act issue. It is about the company and its technology being actively involved in its generation.
Just three weeks ago I went to a jazz gig at the beautiful Vondelkerk. Now it's been destroyed by careless idiots with fireworks. Infuriating.
I recently wrote some thoughts on wrapping Rust libraries for Wasm plus a couple patterns that I use to make wasm-bindgen feel a bit more manageable. No silver bullets here but maybe some sensible defaults (fight me in the comments 😛) notes.brooklynzelenka.com/Blog/Notes-o...
I'm not sure that listing the feature 'direct access to emergency exit' sends quite the right message here.

It's so easy to navigate cities now that most have simple contactless payments for public transport. Meanwhile, Paris:
Very impressed with DJI service: 45 EUR total (incl. labour, postage) to repair a damaged gimbal. With sub-week turnaround.

There's something immensely satisfying about putting the washing machine on at exactly the right time.
Shameful. I can't see how they can continue to be a party to the ECHR after this. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2025/apr/14/hungary-poised-to-adopt-constitutional-amendment-to-ban-lgbtq-gatherings
Back when I was living in Bristol it was barely conceivable that one day through traffic might be removed from Park Street. And, on top of that, real segregated cycling facilities through the Triangle! Drivers nearly killed or injured me many, many times on […] [Original post on indieweb.social]

They've built a new two lane(!) road to access one electricity pylon. Of course the cycle lane gives up entirely to accommodate this and cyclists have to give way to the any vehicle that might be using it to carry out maintenance on this pylon
Being able to use Rust in the browser is great, but it comes with some sharp corners. One such corner is passing arrays of Rust objects into Rust code. In this post I look at some options and the tradeoffs that come with each. www.rossng.eu/posts/2025-0...

Recently I learned of the view that appeasement was necessary for Allied victory in WWII. Why? It was the only way to build enough public support to respond to the eventual invasion of Poland. We are in the same bind today. Do we increase defence spending and consequently cede politics at home […]
