Crappy morning. I find LLMs really beneficial in certain areas of my life, but a lot of people think AI use of any kind is the devil. While this is irritating, what frustrates me more is knowing the real problem is the companies trying to shove this crap up every orifice of our lives. I'm so tired.

this is your weekly reminder that: ⚪ intelligence != wisdom ⚪ correctness in sphere <a> doesn't port to <b> ⚪ being unchallenged leads to very dark places ⚪ be very careful of trajectory and dhh is racist much love my friends

Not sure how many of yall keep up with the latest Ruby goss but DHH is having a meltdown bc Claude wouldn't translate his racist blog post about Roma people into Italian. ::chefs-kiss::

Data compression is such an underrated topic and I think you should all learn about it. I cannot understate this. It is connected to more than you could possibly imagine, and it is now my favorite tech subject.

Just watched a Youtube video that started with "Hey guys, we're gonna take a drive down the road of *binary fractions*..." which might be the lamest intro I've ever heard and I love it

Inviting controversy with this take, which is outside of my comfort zone, but I do stand by it. You can generate good quality code with LLMs, it “just” requires a tonne of human oversight and automated guard rails. Got a week off then I’ll be building my first proper post with webernetes. Stoked.

Our own @samwho.dev ported Kubernetes to the browser. Like a real flippin' cluster with lifecycles, DNS, and a simulated network. It's ~100k lines of TypeScript, almost all written by LLMs, but with every line reviewed by hand to keep it slop-free ↓ ngrok.com/blog/i-porte...
