Today I return to Dawn's old school to present the 'Dawn Cox Award' to a pupil. The drive in also takes me past the crash site, so quite a tricky day to navigate. But I'm used to those now.
Current listen- 1980 last Led Zep tour and these two excellent boxes of all surviving shows. I also have each show on separate cds and Zurich on vinyl. Such is a collectors lot 🤣
It may be the academic equivalent of losing in the heats at an Olympics, but I am very happy to today be awarded a Postgraduate Certificate in Archaeology for the credits from my aborted Masters 😁
Pointless pleasures in life- not doing much because of the heat so have started a listen through of the Led Zep US Tour 1977. Currently second night Chicago from this rare box set, all audience recordings of various quality.
Thought of Dawn Cox tonight on my run as we were running part of the route I ran the day of her memorial service. I paused again to remember her and all she gave to #RETeachers
I think it would be a useful way of raising the general IQ of social media if those people who are unable to follow the simple new recycling advice and sort waste into the correct new bins, to immediately have their ability to post opinions on any form of social media removed.
I fear Polanski has just had his Ratner's moment. Such great momentum, derailed.

Exactly one year ago Dawn's life support was removed, though in reality she had gone within hours of the crash. Learning to live alongside a loss which I can never recover from.

This weekend is a tough one for me as it marks one year since I lost Dawn a car crash when a BMW swerved into her lane. Although life support for a week, the severity of the crash had caused a catastrophic brain injury, and she had gone. So I count my loss from then, not when life support removed.

Labours attitudes towards water companies is one of the starkest examples of how they'll do anything to protect the status quo. The case for water nationalisation is so bloody obvious to everyone - yet they'll do anything they can to keep the failed privatisation experiment.
