So this screen in @onlineornot.com has always been slower than I wanted - around 2.3s(!) to load 10 rows of data from the GraphQL endpoint. It was the first screen I ever built (4+ yrs ago), and I leaned heavily into GraphQL resolvers because I assumed it'd be fast.

Quite an excellent piece. Max and I don't agree on everything (some of our lessons learned contradict each other), but I love having my thinking challenged, and I'm probably wrong on some of these!

think about your audience of course, but the *vast* majority of readers online aren't impressed by your use of words like utilize, leverage, operationalize, etc. if anything, you're confusing them. just say use.
