This is rough but I think it talks about a lot of what is missing from the Cunningham/WNBA discourse. Namely, that trans people are not hypothetical thought experiments. They are real people who are being genocided by our government & any coverage that doesn't center that reality misses the mark.

Honestly, in this political climate, often no policy is better than having a policy. If there isn’t a policy then there isn’t one to be enforce on players. And putting an overly liberal participation policy in place risks putting leagues on the radar of anti-trans groups or even the president.

That has been the standard answer for a while. Any changes would have to be in consultation with the NWSLPA.
Compliance isnt the actual issue. We know that of course Gotham is complying. They’re getting exceptions. The issue is why Gotham is getting special treatment.

Trin and Hutton" others that they've had to really fight to keep in the league, credits HIP with bringing Heaps back. which was always the intention of the rule. balancing the cost control.
