Part of the issue is that there are very few images of ICUs at the peak of the pandemic because privacy policies forbid depictions of patients (who were obviously in no condition to consent). I was worried at the time that this was fueling denial. Seems to have only gotten worse.

I am so triggered by RJK Jr's comment about ICU's being empty during #COVID. I re-read what I wrote after one of the surges. How do others forget. The trauma was--and is--real.

Still angry that the Israeli government rushed to blame Mamdani for an antisemitic stabbing in New York this past week... when they also rushed to absolve Trump of any blame for the much deadlier 2018 Pittsburgh synagogue shooting, for which Trump was actually much more culpable.

i love how centrists continue to do this thing where they say “if DSA becomes more front and center in the party, republicans will run on that!” as if the right doesn’t just say absolutely anything on and run on shit like peanut the squirrel or litterboxes in school bathrooms

see they like Trump and want to help him. By contrast they didn't like Obama and did not want to help him. It explains why they will (I'm pretty sure) air Trump's Thursday speech and did not air Obama's 2014 speech.

For context, ABC, NBC, and CBS refused to air an Obama address in 2014 that expanded DACA and shifted border enforcement away from folks who clearly posed no threat. apnews.com/20ccd7a90e43... What did they air instead?

Compare and contrast to how the (hard right!) Italian government reacted when Trump tried to get their country's team to replace Iran in the World Cup: the official ministerial response was that the request was "shameful", and they wanted nothing to do with it.

Dr. Oz thinks that people are "defrauding" ACA insurance providers by paying premiums and getting nothing back. Such is the intellectual caliber of the Trump administration. They're different from the rest of us.
