So, about 3 years ago I did a research project for my cybersecurity class on how deeply vulnerable our water systems are. Considering that the space had not shown much improvement as far as security goes at the time, I doubt it has since. And now we are at risk of learning exactly what that means.

"I just have a mild sniffle" That mild sniffle put me on my ass for a month and kept coming back. I was trying to figure out what it was... I finally think I have an idea: Parainfluenza or respiratory adenovirus. Are you sick? Mask up or isolate. Don't share. This put me in urgent care.

Parainfluenza (PIV) and respiratory adenovirus are elevated nationally.

I would like to propose that Caffeine and Protein are either spelled wrong or pronounced wrong and that English is a phonetic minefield of a language and that it should probably be outlawed

Just in case people think that getting protein is "hard" as a vegan, the 120g I got today is not atypical. And that was within 1700 calories. That is a density of about 7g per 100 calories, and I wasn't really trying very hard. This at least 20% more than I theoretically need to improve fitness.

Since we're on it today: meal 2 Spicy marinated baked tofu (prepared last week) with rice and pickled veggies. 39g protein, 550 calories, still less than $3 for a plate. Also Buldak ramen makes a sauce that is vegan and is really tasty and very spicy

A plate of the food described in the post

Plant based recovery breakfast time 500 calories, 40g of protein, 30% dv of fiber, and it was only $3 for the meal. Eating Vegan isn't expensive. Sometimes I have expensive meat replacements, but stuff like this mixed with meals of beans, chickpeas, lentils, tofu, and tempeh keeps it cheap.

I was probably closer to actual death than I would like to admit, but we got it done. Fun long gravel ride, just hot as FUCK. 100F basically the whole time. ☀️☀️☀️🥵💦

A Strava screenshot of an activity, called heat stroke party

Despite my brain and body being suboptimal and at times, trying to fail and kill me, I wanna lose weight (again) and try to become competitive on a bike (for the first time). Just for myself. I can clearly endure, but now it's time to get lighter and faster.

Post a perfect album from the 90s that isn't Nirvana, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, or Alice In Chains ---- There are lots of very very good albums from the 90s, but almost all have a shit song. This one is end to end perfection. I put this above all the albums from the artists listed in the post too.

I am grateful for the internet in that it helped me find like-minded people. I hate that it became a thing that drives compulsive use. It makes me sad there are a lot of people who never got to experience the pre-internet world. I'm not sure we're in a fundamentally better place with it than without

For the love of god I wish businesses would stop using "Inconvenience" when they are creating major life disruptions. Call it a problem. It's a problem. "Sorry for causing a problem" is the least you can do. An inconvenience is a 5 minute delay on a fast food order.

after spending four weeks away from home, I cannot stress enough how much places with functional, cheap, and plentiful public transport are so much better than just driving your fucking car everywhere
