Ugh, I need campaigners to realize that I AM NOT A DEMOCRAT, AND I DO NOT WANT YOUR SPAMMY TEXTS BEGGING ME FOR MONEY. YOU'RE NOT GETTING ANY. I'll vote for you. Maybe. That's what you'll get from me.

Is it gross to think that Democrats should run candidates with conspicuously white-looking names in Republican primaries? Is it perpetuating racism? Or is it merely using their own racism against them? If those candidates won, it'd be objectively better on a legislative level.
Sure, you lefties can win in safe places like New York, but you gotta learn how to play the game like us if you want to survive at a national level. Check this out: *loses twice to the worlds dumbest pedophile*
holy shit -- Schiff ties Trump's judicial nominees in knots by asking them who won the 2016 before *before* asking them who won in 2020, which results in them sounding like election deniers about Trump's victories!
I mean this sincerely: I think pro Israel people really need to begin internalizing that this is not a fringe opinion anymore and in fact is very statistically likely to be the average view of any brown Democratic candidate for office or any candidate under the age of 50
The co-founder of the 2024 National Uncommitted Movement, Abbas Alawieh, decisively won his primary to become a State Senator in Michigan. Abbas was endorsed by both Bernie Sanders and Gretchen Whitmer. Abbas Alawieh also privately met with former VP Kamala Harris last month upon her request.
El-Sayed: "My commitment to Jewish safety is the same commitment that I have to the safety of my own daughters. Because if there is one question of political philosophy that ought to animate us all, it's what would we do if we treated all our kids like they were all of our kids?"
Glad to see this. Her opponent is a fucking monster; I wonder if there's value in pointing out how strikingly Republican-like a lot of these "centrists" are.
In other Michigan news, the state looks set to elect it's first transgender lawmaker. Joanna Whaley won her Democratic primary and will compete in November for a state house seat, beating a primary opponent who tried and failed to disqualify her for not running under her deadname
Congratulations to Rashida Tlaib on winning her congressional primary! As the first Palestinian-American woman elected to congress, Rashida continues to fight for Detroit and international solidarity. @detroitdsa.bsky.social
The dude has not met the idea that he cannot galactically misunderstand
okay now he's gone too far
Abdul El Sayed's open-mindedness on the question of how to actually resolve the question of Palestine is one of the best indicators of his overall intelligence and sincerity. Policymakers in DC should adopt a rights-based approach which prioritizes ending the occupation and apartheid systems.
El-Sayed: "I believe in equal rights to peace, dignity, and self-determination, for Palestinians and Jewish Israelis alike... If that’s 2 states, I’m for it. If it’s 1 state, I’m for that. If it’s this 'land for all' model, ... or whatever they decide." www.newyorker.com/news/the-new...
me reading almost literally any article on any topic:
oh my god every single self-delighted word of this fucking piece is sending me further into madness
WHY ARE ALL THESE PEOPLE UNWILLING TO WASH THEIR ASS WHAT IS THIS WHY
Oh my god the dietician who is telling everyone in the White House to only eat steak and sauerkraut doesn't wipe his ass.
I saw a post about ad-blockers that reminded me of when a former friend accused people of using an extension that bypassed recipe stories of being misogynistic because women perform a lot of unpaid labor, especially in the kitchen, and thus they deserved to make money. On ads and clicks, apparently.
A 60 Minutes probe into Epstein's banking, with Wyden already interviewed, vanished right after Sharyn Alfonsi got pushed out under Bari Weiss. Same editor who stalled the CECOT migrant story until Stephen Miller got a say. CBS keeps calling it timing. Sure looks like a pattern.
60 Minutes Epstein Banking Story Vanished After CBS Ousted Sharyn Alfonsi, Dem Senator Reveals
Wyden revealed he was interviewed for the show in a Senate report alleging the country's largest banks turned “a blind eye” to Epstein's financial activity

I wish I could find more pasta options that still contain gluten. Regular pasta lacks nutritive value relative to its carbs, but basically all lentil/chickpea/etc. pasta is built around being gluten-free. And for good reason! I just wish another market existed for my needs, too. 🤷
PEOPLE WHO LOST TWO ELECTIONS TO DONALD TRUMP: We are the only ones who are serious about defeating Trump
What is the genre for that one song on 70s rock albums that's just, like, a 83-second track of a dude singing a silly nonsense song at a honky-tonk piano in a funny voice
In my extremely limited dealings with the sexual desires of men-loving women they either want a 1) 7-foot-tall aloof and ethereal elfin figure with long hair and impossible cheekbones or a 2) 5-foot fuzzy fun-loving chaos goblin hedgehog man
Guys will listen to male influencer bullshit about needing to have a six pack and manipulate everyone and meanwhile women will go “you know who is the sexiest fucking guy I’ve ever seen?” and post this
I hate these self-aggrandizing "I always knew I didn't like that celebrity" takes, especially when that celebrity has been pretty whatever until recently when they decided to say something out-of-touch. No, the signs weren't "always there." You're not psychic. This is just confirmation bias!
I think on the whole it’s totally fine in principle to urge people to be cautious in how they talk about AIPAC et al but some people really do need to get it thru to themselves that it is actually exceptional for one organization to spend >30M on a single primary like it’s nothing.
Banks permitted millions in suspicious transactions tied to Epstein—and former 60 Minutes correspondent Sharyn Alfonsi had the story months ago. But the report would never air. trib.al/ZShZlIS
I really wish @propublica.org management hadn't fought the @propublicaguild.org on the latter's concerns about "AI". It makes me really REALLY concerned whether I'll have to be on my guard about trusting things from propublica now, Too. It's just exhausting. But if the Guild is happy, it's a start.
🚨 WE HAVE A DEAL! After three years, in a major step forward for our members, we have ratified our first contract with @propublica.org’s management. We deeply appreciate everyone who supported us along the way. Here are some of our big wins👇
