Absolute shambles of verifying your identity for Company House. Swear down I'd done this, logged into everything, assigned companies to my name, provided codes when submitting statements and just found out, I'm still not verified I am DIGITALLY LITERATE! Now sucking up the customer support time

Why is the old leadership trope of 'Don't get involved in the detail' bad for delivering good services? Our new episode of Bad Services podcast on materials is out now and why we need to care about the detail good.services/badservicespodcast/episode010
Just wanted to take a moment and reflect on our 25,000+ signatures for a public inquiry into Section 28's impact. If everyone who signed it got 3 people to sign it we'd be at 100,000. This is part of wider work we're doing to get an apology for this law. petition.parliament.uk/petitions/76...
One of my favourite things of being on the local community WhatsApp is people accidentally leaving 5 second audio clips and not deleting them Gives you such an insight into the ambient noise of homes and village life
Peak World Cup unlocked. Watching Spain in World Cup final in Spain
Nice touch letting Bellingham take the final run there
Can someone fill me in, have managed to get the England vs France match in Spain to play So… are France just not trying at all, like really, is this the approach to the game?
Last week, we introduced chapter 1 of Bad Services: Purpose Every service has a purpose, but for every purpose, there are infinite possible services..how do you pick the right way of delivering that purpose if you’re starting from scratch? More on purpose/services: good.services/writing/ever...
In a break from my usual Funding service posts, I’ve written about my other portfolio. And one of my favourite things, Portals! The portal trap cathydutton.co.uk/posts/the-po...
The portal trap
No one likes portals, one-stop shops, single front doors or gateways, so why are they the go-to solution for so many large organisations?

NEW: The Greens won’t stand in Clacton either. That’s a clean sweep. It’s essentially Nigel Farage versus a bin.
The question for Nigel Farage now is whether it's less embarrassing to un-resign and claim that was an establishment stitchup, or to spend a month competing with a bin. Neither is exactly a *great* option. Neither solves his ongoing scandals. And it's a mess entirely of his own making.
As much as we should really take this all seriously. Sometimes comedy and satire is the only way to fight fascists and bigots. Imagine if @countbinface.bsky.social really did beat Nigel Farage.
In politics, we’re torn between ideals and practicalities, aspirations and realities, the world as we want it, and as we find it But one day a manifesto comes along that reconciles both in every pledge. A rare moment of clarity and hope
Episode 8 of the Bad Services Podcast is out. As the book, Bad Services is now out, we’re delving into each chapter, focusing on the causes of Bad Services. In episode 8, we’re talking about Chapter 1, Purpose. Why does a lack of purpose lead to Bad Services? good.services/badservicesp...

What a weekend at Pride in London, 2026 Despite having lived in London on and off for 10 years, for various reasons I have never made it to London Pride. This time, I marched campaigning for a public inquiry into Section 28 (which you can sign below!) petition.parliament.uk/petitions/76...

I used lots of the Adobe suite so am still a paying customer, but really, Adobe Acrobat, is almost, unusable at this point. It takes me around 60 seconds to close, click past reminders, settings and new AI feature announcements. Sort it out folks. Maybe a load in simple mode or something?
