Excited for this weekend’s one‑off Homebrew Website Club in London. Also reminds me how much work goes into organising events finding a suitable venue, dates everyone I know can attend and last minute drop‑outs
London meetup this Saturday 😃 "Homebrew Website Club is a meetup for anyone interested in personal websites and a distributed web. Whether you’re a blogger, coder, designer, or just someone who wants to improve their presence on the web, this meetup is for you." events.indieweb.org/2026/07/-hwc...
The vast majority of people on this planet do not have the money to pay their way out of the serious effects and consequences of disability. The few people that are wealthy enough to do so are allowed to dictate that accessibility isn't necessary or worth investing in for everyone else.
A short summary of my first 2 years in the Civil Service: Served under 3 prime ministers, 4 secretaries of state, 3 departments and just about to begin my second MOG at GDS.

Almost a hat-trick of motorists cutting me up mini-roundabouts today whilst out cycling
Some of the most stressful things in life: selling property in England, applying for a UK spouse visa… Yes, I’m try to do both, simultaneously, and neither are straightforward cases 😫
The “Are you muted?” dialog in MS Teams goes wild in a noisy open‑plan office. You’d think they could use their AI for something genuinely helpful, like spotting facial cues that indicate when someone is actually talking.
At the London book launch event last night for Bad Services surrounded by all my favourite people in design

With Copilot costs going up, how expensive is AI really going to be when you've burned through your token budget and STILL have just as many, if not more, accessibility issues to fix at the end? 🤔 Nothing changes, just more expensive. Make it make sense.

The 2026 email accessibility report is now live. 99.88% of 376,348 triggered Serious or Critical accessibility issues. Once again, it's disappointing, most of these issues are quick easy fixes. We all need to do better, myself included.

Due to the changes happening over on Medium, I’m looking for people who want to keep blogging/weeknoting but don’t want to think about/pay for/manage their own website. I’ve been working on a side project around this sort of thing but can get it out earlier if people want to leave Medium. HMU!
It's often uneasy for me to share my experiences as a woman in tech, but this job market has me worried for everyone stuck somewhere harmful. I admire everyone who takes on "women in tech" speaking gigs but I am also angry for them and us. ohhelloana.blog/woman-in-tec...
It's 2026 and women are still asked to teach others to think a little bit and not be a prick
A while back I went to a tech meet-up and one of the talks was about being a woman in tech and I am finally ready to put into words why I sat through it so uncomfortably.
