I run marathons, eat delicious things, and teach people how not to be jerks. Chicago, always. Pro human rights. Yes, all of them. And I talk about music on a podcast: @thecoverupcast.bsky.social https://thecoverupcast.com

Guitar shop going out of business. Have I played any of the many stringed instruments I already own in ages? Obvs no. So, anyway, here’s my new vintage parlor guitar w/mostly easily fixable surface damage. And I didn’t bring home a kitten from the rescue next door. Financially sound decisions FTW.

Small-scale vintage acoustic guitar (probably orchestra size) on a stand in a cluttered living room. It has a warm brown finish with leaf-and-vine inlay around the edge. There’s some surface damage, mostly adhesive reside, below the bridge.

An early song that could have easily defined a band’s career, but instead just gave us a glimpse of what was to come, and a cover by a great band that was out in the wilderness making some bad choices. My Generation, originally by The Who, covered by Iron Maiden. #musicpodcast 1/2

Split image. Top: The Who, looking very young. Bottom: Iron Maiden, looking very without Bruce Dickinson.

"It's just sports," "It will only affect a few people," & "It'll also be used against cis women" are, IMHO, all equally not-great takes on today's SCOTUS ruling, just different angles. The Supreme Court ruled it's okay to discriminate against a certain class of people. Full stop. That is a horror.
