Today I ran the Dick Beardsley 10K! I got a new PB of 54:26 (age graded), was in the top 40% overall, the top third of women & placed 14th in my age division! I did better in this 10K than the Fargo 10K in June. There were some obstacles, but no excuses. One more 10K this year, training continues.

The starting line for the 10K. 50 degrees, sunny skies. Lots of runners. Me with my 10K medal post race. Running into the finish line. I’m in the middle. Crossing the finish line. Right before I got there the finish line blew over onto some runners! They rushed to get it back up. It was pretty windy.

Indian country was hit hard by Covid. We all know people, like my dad, who died from it. We lost so many. Grandparents. Teachers. Medicine people. Veterans. Matriarchs. When the Moderna vax showed up at Indian Health Clinics across the country we lined up to get it. It saved lives. Thank you Dolly.

I ran the Fargo Marathon 10K! I got a new PB of 56:09 (age graded), was in the top 30% overall, the top 20% of women & placed 15th in my age division! Not bad for doing a half marathon 3 weeks ago. It was a little warm, but otherwise race conditions were optimal. What a good day.

At the starting line of the Fargo Marathon 10K, May 30, 2026. Cloudy skies. Hubby took this shot of me running in for Fargo 10K. 10K race shot at the finish line After the race with my 10K medal.

My daughter Rena graduated from Minnesota State with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing! I had the honor of pinning her before the commencement ❤️ I’m so proud of her! Congratulations Mahpiyadutawin, Red Cloud Woman.

Rena in her beaded graduation cap with her eagle plume and medicine wheel. My daughter ecstatic receiving her well-earned diploma. Giving my daughter her nursing pin.My daughter in her beautiful ribbon skirt with her boyfriend on graduation day.

I ran the Eau Claire Half Marathon this morning! Half Marathon #4 for me in as many years. I didn’t realize over half the course is an uphill climb. What a great run. No new PR, I was 62nd in my group, time of 2:08:38 (age graded). I didn’t place but I finished in the top half.

Pre race in my tiger bandana. It was a warm one ☀️ I got passed by bigfoot. My hubby Ray took this shot, mile 8, I think. Post run with my Half Marathon racing medal.

While having breakfast at a local cafe, Barney Miller was playing on the TV & then I remembered it’s my dad’s birthday. He loved that show. Covid took him in 2020. He would have been 92. I think he’s with me more now than he was in life, especially when I’m failing to see the importance of a moment.
