Imagine trying to explain to someone a mere ten years ago that the Republican president wanted to raise taxes, eliminate the filibuster, and get the federal government more involved in elections.
The Maine postmortem showed that voters soured on Gideon in 20 because of the long campaign. So perhaps a shortened window isn’t a bad thing for Jackson. Maine is also the only state that split its senate and presidential vote in 20, and Collins knows how to win her state. In short, Maine is weird.

Ceaselessly amazed at how effective just going outside is at improving my mood.

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver on Trump coming to Madison Square Garden "He's welcome to be here. What makes sports so special, especially when there’s so much that divides people, is it’s something that we have in common."
She screams. She naps. She flirts. She’s got a little something for everyone.
Fresh out with @salilb.bsky.social at PRQ! We find that even after accounting for ideology, Republican primary voters are more likely to reject climate action while Democratic primary voters increasingly support it, making primary electorates more polarized. journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/...

I regret to inform you that this is very cool to me.
Stranger just asked me if I was going to be walking at graduation this weekend. Apparently at 36 I can still pass for 22.

Great new paper out at @ajpseditor.bsky.social. In old school terms, women have a more enhanced sense of the D term. This finding helps explain US women's higher relative turnout despite women still lagging in terms of engagement-encouraging resources. Likely esp important for Black women.
