Musician funerals, man. I find it unbearably beautiful the way people come together to make music to honor someone they loved, whether they’re famous or not. I’ve sung so many funerals over the years but never had to hold it together when it was someone close to me.

The problem is that the only thing I want to do now is see Saint Joan again, but SPECIFICALLY the four person Bedlam Theatre version I saw multiple times in two different productions Bedlam brought to DC over the years.

There’s a volunteer from the choir who really misses getting to do chant for the summer, so for the second Sunday in a row, I get to kick back and barely cantor anything in the second mass of the day while he and the music director do the chants alone, this is the LIFE.
Just a girl at a small DC club, waiting for the band, reading an Animorphs book, and hoping my ancient body can handle standing for hours still.
I've read interviews w LMB, but never seen a direct answer to this ?: Was she encouraged to switch to a male protagonist (Cordelia's son Miles, great character also) because that would be "more appealing," sell more books etc? Drop intel if u know. Deeply, deeply wish we'd gotten more Cordelia books

Despite playing her for multiple seasons and through tremendous highs and lows, perhaps the two truest things I’ve ever said about Frances Anderson from @nomgpodcast.bsky.social is that she would have read all the Twilight books and been a huge fan of Vampire: the Masquerade AP.
The thing I keep circling around in re: the Hank Green/AI usage of it all is that he clearly thought using AI to find articles was a reasonable choice. He thought he’d found a best possible usage case! But that doesn’t exist, and it’s a system designed to invite the addiction as soon as you begin.
The problem is that a friend mentioned Lawrence of Arabia and now I want to watch Lawrence of Arabia again.
It’s my summer at the AFI, and we are leaning in and- appropriately- fastening seatbelts.
Omg as I walked past the last group of kids with cardboard swords, they were all chattering “Gosh, I love baseball, this is definitely a baseball bat” and I was compelled to respond, “I also love… baseball.”

Seconded and thirded with my whole heart. It captures so much of the human understanding of the divine and the most human impulses we have. I came out understanding why people go to both church and the theatre.

A friend has announced her new book today and the setting is mall-centric and I CANNOT stop singing “Let’s Go to the Mall,” send help.
Glen Hansard gave some of the absolute best live shows I’ve ever seen. I remember one time in DC where his voice was almost gone, but he wanted to try and make it through just a few of the songs he knew folks had come to hear him sing. He made it over two hours, buoyed by his love of sharing music.
It’s possible, based on the response, that I should not use the phrase “end in ruin” to describe “got the back of my dress wet and it slapped unpleasantly against my calves.” Possible.
