Nobody is calling the Netflix merger what it is. Which is a monopoly, which is going to be TERRIBLE for the movie/TV industry.
All I want is to submit my LRP grant yet ASSIST has been down for a day's if not a week
Completed a submission for the BioRender 2025 Grant Support Initiative. This initiative is to provide funds to labs affected by the funding cuts in the US. I submitted a graphic/figure I made using Biorender for my Burroughs Wellcome Grant I was awarded in 2023. Here's a link to learn more:

While I’m a big fan of new technologies that help us study human biology…there’s still no replacement for animal research! See my article in Gen News. www.genengnews.com/topics/trans...
Why We Still Need Animal Research in a World of AI and Organoids
The portrayal of uncaring scientists without any thought for the animals being used in their research is far from the truth.

One of my favorite Dev Bio Professors @rogerslabucd.bsky.social is presenting her work on Neural Crest EMT at this mornings session at #ICDB2025
I LOVE when past me preemptively does the work that future me would potentially need🙌🏾
Does anyone on here teach a biotechnology course and would be willing to share a syllabus with me?
This faculty job search in this climate has made me weary tbh. I am tired.
It was so good to see my friend, THE @carolynchlebek.bsky.social , present her amazing postdoc work that investigates the role of diet and obesity on metabolic changes for bone health. I hope you enjoyed your visit to the WashU Ortho department. Thanks for taking the time to have lunch with us!
"The grant was created by the first Trump administration to foster a new generation of diverse scientists in biomedical research, then defunded in the second Trump administration's ongoing purge of diversity, equity, and inclusion programs." www.wxxinews.org/2025-04-28/a...
As a diversity grant dies, young scientists fear it will haunt their careers
The Trump administration defunded the National Institute of Health's MOSAIC grant program, which launched the careers of scientists from diverse backgrounds.

It's so important to have community in academia, especially now more than ever. Shout out to the WashU Black Postdoctoral Association or being my community and village at WashU and in St. Louis. Love y'all ❤️
First Principle of Academic Freedom: Scientists must have the right to choose the paths of their studies, follow data where it leads, and freely write about it. Second Principle of Academic Freedom: Other scientists have the right to say we are wrong. The end. Let’s stand up for those. 🧪
Congrats to fellow lab member, Lanre, for the NSF GRFP award honorable mention. He is co mentored by @simonytanglab.bsky.social and @settonlab.bsky.social! Well done
