A ton of antis are misunderstanding ppls response to angst/whump/taboos They see ppl going "OMG YES HOLY SHIT" and "i NEED a fic immediately" on dark fanworks, and they think the ppl replying "think it's cute and wholesome" No, we are enthusiastic about messy situations actually

Having most of my fave blorbos be villains is suffering tbh Villains are often sidelined in the plot (if they’re minor antagonists), many of them straight up die, and after all that, some ppl will assume you’re a Bad Person™ for liking them

the thing about "pure" ships is often they dont actually seem to be pure with the actual canon It seems that it's based on the type of ppl who are drawn to it, the shipping culture/fanfic that gets created around it, where addressing the canon taboos is seen as "making it gross"

The TOS being so strict that they control you offsite is the problem; sites like Patreon and Kofi have offsite clauses too. The social criminalization of the suggestion that somewhere you might be doing nsfw is a problem. It's branding a person as obscene and we need consumers to stand up for us

this is fucked on a few levels. first, the violation isn't with content hosted on YouTube itself, but has to do with linking out to "sexually gratifying" content on other platforms, often using aggregators like Linktree. SWers are very familiar with this; IG is notoriously strict about it, too

I think if theres something you aren't attracted to, that's perfectly fine no matter what it is & u shouldn't be shamed/guilted into being romantic/sexual with ANYONE, but I also think it's nuanced & there are certain qualities you CANNOT be bragging about not being into

But once again, “we can always tell what you think the t/b is even in SFW fics based on the characterisation” is so weird and stupid also they CLEARLY CAN’T TELL, because of the other half of their complaints is always “I read 80k of fic and wasted all my time cause the sex was reverse!”

Like no, that person is not being an evil fetishizer cause they wanna read about a subby bottom Tradfujo fixed shippers exist Why are you trying to make them read fics performatively??!?

But the “just read it anyways because I want you to read my fic” is bonkers behaviour, like would you say that about any other kink? When engaging with fanworks, you cannot get into a “eat your vegetables” mindset, ppl are reading for FUN

I’ve seen fixed shippers refer to seeing the wrong sex act in a fic or art as “like being RAPED”, or “having an allergen secretly put in their food” Having histrionic tantrums in fandom spaces while acting like that is ALSO not okay

But ALSO a lot of fixed shippers need to stop acting like seeing the wrong t/b is literally traumatic, and stop calling fics “worthless” and “a waste of time” in public fandom spaces

I’m a filthy top/bottom centrist cause I think fixed shippers are perfectly in their rights to only enjoy one dynamic & seme/uke tropes, meanwhile, pretentious vers shippers need to stop acting like ppl need to force themselves into reading reverse

you know, I am going to be an asshole about this: this project is a net negative for all fandoms. it's bunk data that incentivizes every bad faith, clout-obsessed, exec-brain instinct that fandom should be against.
