(1/5) The internet has returned, and thus I bring you: Birds Specifically, we're starting out with penguins. As a kid, I used to be minorly obsessed with these weird, feathered bowling pins. Less so now, but they're still neat animals.

Bad news for bird folk, I agreed to go to Birdland with my little brother, and I have taken my camera with me. That sounds like good news to me. We birds have lovely plumage and we love to show it off.

(1/2) Sabertooth Cats, by far. They were always rare in the mammoth steppe east of Sakara’s home, representing isolated populations cut off by a land bridge disappearing (local Homotherium having long been extinct).

#AnthropologyAugust Yesterday we talked about the most common intelligent species, whether that be the most well spread or the highest population. Today let’s talk about the opposite What is the rarest intelligent species? How did they become so few? Are any near extinction? #promtgame #writesky

Day 2 : What is the least common or rarest intelligent species in your world? Was this always the case?

Species in my setting stick roughly to human heights, with only a little variation. I.e. mustelids, vulpines and wolves often grow to around 150cm-180cm Bears, however, get to retain a bit of their size. It’s unusual to meet a grown bear shorter than 180cm, and not unknown for them to reach 210cm.

#AnthropologyAugust We have talked about the rarest, and the most plentiful but now let’s talk about the biggest. Do you have any intelligent species that could be considered megafauna? Or even larger that might be kaiju sized? #promptgame #prompt #writesky #writingcomunity

What is the largest intelligent species in your setting?

(Gonna do a couple of these, since Virgin can’t maintain an internet connection for more than 24 hours) Of what I’ve shown so far, it would seem to be canines and canine-adjacent folk. While the population and tribes are very mixed in-terms of species, canines show up all over.

#AnthropologyAugust Ok let’s get this going with day 1! What is the most common intelligent sapient species in your fantasy world? That can either be the one with the highest population, or just the one that is spread around the most. What makes them so common? #writesky #promptgame #prompt

Kuveli is definitely the more interesting of the group in this regard. Being spiritually sensitive, he’s been harassed and assaulted by evil spirits in his dreams from early on in life. Thus he’s long been afflicted with night terrors, with these evil spirits taking the forms of friends and family.

If he had to choose, Sakara would say a gloomy overcast autumn day. Enjoys the smell of rain in the air, the crisp breeze, and the sound of the occasional light shower on the leaves. Cool enough to dress up warm and comfy, but not so cold he has to lug a cloak and parka around.

What is your original character's favorite type of weather? Is there any compelling reason why? What about weather they dislike? #OCASK #OCQOTD #OCSKY

(1/3) So, to kick off my two weeks of leave, I had a lovely trip over to the grim darkness of Sharpness. Where, as it happens, the Vale of Berkeley Railway is celebrating 150 years since the line opened, by running the first passenger train along the line in over 60 years.
