History teacher & HoD at Bolder Academy. TeachFirst ambassador 2015. As a rule, usually dreaming about when I’m next teaching about the Vikings…

Today, Bolder Academy needs to say a huge thank you to @alfdubs.bsky.social Year 10 & 11 (& staff) were totally wowed! Loads of students stayed behind to shake Alf’s hand and thank him for his service, or ask (brilliant) questions. I felt immensely proud of our brilliant ‘bold’ kids

Thank you to everyone who came to our second Ark Soane History conference yesterday. It was such a joy to see so many history teacher colleagues together. As always, I’m proudest of our pupils who were so keen to help and talk about history. What a lovely day. #Soane25

Have you ever seen a box FULL of #Viking oval brooches?! In 2018, I had the immense privilege of being part of a viewing at the National Museum of Scotland as part of our #Vikings in Scotland: 20 Years On conference, which served as the precursor to our EUP book, The Viking Age in Scotland.

@alfdubs.bsky.social I’m a history teacher at a state school in West London. When we teach our year 10s about Britain’s migration story in the spring term, we teach them about you as one of our case studies! I wonder whether you might be interested in talking to our students in person or virtually?

Have had a long social media hiatus… Breaking cover - what have history been doing at Bolder? We’ve been massively enjoying (& so have year 7) using the new @counsellc.bsky.social et. al. textbook. Great stories, lovely illustrations, beautifully simplistic focus prog. in concepts. Cracking!
