The giant hole in precipitation between Denver and Boulder this week is getting old fast
I've never heard so much thunder, with so little rain, as this summer in Colorado.
Incredible level of confidence in the forecast of an extreme cat 5 (cat 6, if you will lol) in Typhoon Dolphin
I feel like this is likely a case of satellite intensity estimates falling short. The symmetry of the eye, stadium, warmth, is classic cat-5. Too much weight on how cold the CDO is - will underestimate intensity every time. Classic example - Dorian.
It's wild how egregious the GFS warm bias during these heatwaves.
In the climate spectrum, is there a scenario in which the western third of the country is not baking under a ridge all summer? Or is this just the new norm.
Colorado has lost another firefighter. Five lives have now been taken by this relentless fire season. Our hearts are with every family, every crew, and every community carrying this unimaginable loss. We will never take their service and sacrifice for granted.
Fausto: Dry air eroding my core? No biggie, I'll just turn this into an eyewall replacement cycle.
What is the record for the most number of saves in a World Cup final…
Two unrelated things 1) This is an epic halftime show. Can’t beat BELIEBE. 2) This is one of the most fun times to be a Red Sox fan in my life, which includes 4 WS titles.
Realtors using AI on Zillow has gotten so egregious that they‘re basically just making up new impossible rooms. Slowly rendering Zillow useless. If they knew what was good for them, they’d ban AI generated images.
Every single device in the nursery also has a thermometer, because why not. And so there‘s 4 different readings in this one small room … with a range at any given time of about 15 degrees … So now I never know what the temperature is.
Like many in the US, my main takeaway from the World Cup is that I would follow an Erling Haaland-based religion if it existed.
Flying DEN-BOS, JetBlue inexplicably delayed 9 hours. Flying BOS-DEN, stuck on plane in Logan ground stop for hours with no new information. … I think I’m done with flying?
When you’re bringing your old weather radio back from your childhood home, and it gets flagged at security.
Round 3 of storms heading toward Arvada, CO. Likely to rise above 2" of rain in the last 48 hours. Which here, that's a lot.
possibly the heaviest rain I’ve seen since moving to Colorado. 1.3” in a half an hour
11 years ago today, when we had a president who championed science.
Today is Anthony's 6-month birthday. He was born on November 6th. The high was 69 degrees. Today, May 6th, there is 8 inches of snow on the ground.
First half of May will likely be colder than the second half of March. Not anomaly, actual temperature.
I did also predict back in March that our first big storm would be a snow event in May after everything had leafed out. But beggars can't be choosers - I'll take the moisture despite likely tree carnage.
