This is what 3500 doors knocked looks like! The map of Ward 10 on my living room wall is filling up with highlighted streets, showing where our team has spoken with neighbours all across Ward 10. Go to my website for send me a DM if you’re interested in volunteering!
No Caribana parade for me today because it's my daughter's birthday, but how serendipitous that this celebration of rebellion and revolution lands on Emancipation Day! A quick thread:
At Full Circle, we lowered our electricity use over the last year by 20% by replacing two old fridges, adjusting our thermostat schedule, and installing a shade awning in the front window (which gets a lot of afternoon sun). At the same time, electricity rates have gone up by 20% 😵💫
Today is World Day Against Trafficking In Persons, and I’m taking the time to learn and reflect on the scale of this issue in our community. I encourage you to familiarize yourself with the “What are the warning signs” and “What can you do” sections on SASC’s site: www.sascwr.org/ahtp.html
Join me and the campaign team for our second community conversation! This time we’ll focus on parks, including the discrepancy between park availability and the amount of parkland fees collected for new development in each area of the city. #kitchener #wrpoli #watreg
It’s time for Kitchener to enact a private tree-cutting bylaw that includes smaller lots, and that doesn’t give blanket permission to clear-cut trees for redevelopment. Do you have a favourite tree in your neighbourhood? Let me know in the comments 👇
We deserve protection for all city trees #kitchener #watreg #wrpoli

Thanks to everyone who came out to our Community Conversation on housing last week. It was a great chance to have some more in-depth discussions and connect the dots between affordability, liveable neighbourhoods, and sustainable development. #kitchener #wrpoli #rentals #infill #missingmiddle
Afrovibes lit up downtown with high energy and international talent! This is an example of a grassroots event that saw a need for greater presence of afrobeats music in our community. Four years later, it’s going strong and an important part of our summer festival lineup. Congratulations 👏
With today’s Kitchener Takes The Stage event, the city has announced its intention to become an “emerging music city”. We deserve a city where artists can afford to live, find studio space, and build their fan base at every stage of their career. #music #Kitchener #dtklove
Our team spent today door-knocking in a downtown high-rise, where many neighbours mentioned that they love Kitchener for its plethora of events and festivals. So of course I had to swing by the KW Palestine Festival this afternoon to enjoy some of the best maamoul date cookies I’ve ever tasted 😋
Do you forage in the city? Would you like to see more edible plants in parks, along city streets, and in public flowerbeds? #eatlocal #foraging #urbanharvest #kitchener #wrpoli m.youtube.com/shorts/qcFjI...
We deserve edible public plants

The cherry blossoms in Cherry Park are one of my favourite hidden gems in this city. I love how the neighbourhood association leans all the way in to the theme with their annual Cherry Festival! Thank you to all the volunteers who make this happen 🍒 #Kitchener

Patios, festivals, and construction are all in full swing! Wishing you all a wonderful Canada Day holiday, and for those of us in the service industry who are still working today, we’ll find some time in the sun soon ☀️
What a weekend of live music and events for a good cause 😁 - relaxing barefoot in the grass at Sunset Sessions - TWB’s pride patio party in support of Spectrum - Fruit Basket Co’s inaugural songwriters’ circle - a fundraising concert for Gaza relief
We deserve housing choice in every neighbourhood. On Monday, June 29, Kitchener Council discusses our new official plan. I urge all councillors to accept the staff recommendation and permit up to 6 storeys in all neighbourhoods outside of CHLs. #Kitchener #WatReg #yimby #WRPoli

Sending a huge thank you to my canvassing team! Together we’ve knocked on 1,500 doors all across Ward 10. I can feel the momentum 😁
🎉 1,500 doors knocked ✊ One conversation at a time, we’re meeting as many Ward 10 neighbours as we can. Thanks to the dedicated team of canvassing volunteers! Craig, Josh, Naomi, Yulia, Sarah, Cathy, Marta… Your dedication helps make all this possible!
59 years of Kitchener-Waterloo Multicultural Festival! Getting to speak with community organizations and learn about their work is one of my favourite parts of events like these. #WRPoli #Kitchener #DTKLove
Forcing encampment residents to move isn’t a solution to the homelessness crisis in #WatReg. A safe tenting framework would help provide stability for those living rough in our city. Let’s focus energy there instead of taking the encampment to court again. #Kitchener www.linkedin.com/feed/update/...

Taking a step back to appreciate the big picture. Every neighbourhood in Kitchener should have housing options for all stages of life, as well as services and jobs close by. Let's get it right and continue to protect our countryside. #Kitchener #WatReg #WRPoli www.linkedin.com/posts/samnab...

A dreamy morning in Central Frederick for the community garage sale! It was a great opportunity to meet neighbours and I snagged myself a hammock :) I also had some great conversations about protections for tenants that are being squeezed by the housing market. #Kitchener #WRPoli

You all showed up in a big way on Sunday evening to celebrate this campaign kick-off! Neighbours as young as 5 years old up to 75 years old came together for this, and I’m so happy we set aside this time to talk about the “why” behind my run for city council. Let’s keep the momentum going!
PSA for two awesome community events this Saturday: the Central Frederick garage sale and the Hohner Ave Porch Party! See you at both?
Announcing our special guests for the campaign kick-off party this Sunday: three community organizers who inspire me so much 😁 Come with your questions, and let’s have a frank discussion about what lessons we can learn from these local leaders. 📅 Sunday May 24 / 5pm / 741 King St W
“Fill more potholes faster” is only the first half of the solution to infrastructure maintenance. This is one of the most common issues I’m hearing at the door: we want our city to get the basics right! But we can’t only treat the symptom.
