The very last landing of our drone "Mick DAGGER" at #Krafla #volcano 🥹🌋 We concluded the field work for our #DAGGER, #Iceland has given us a-ma-zing weather, ✅ all the boxes on our list! Now on to analyzing our data and inserting into numerical models during the long Polish winter 😎 @ncn.gov.pl

With the #DAGGER project team (Tegan, Amisha, myself) in East #Iceland again! We're joined by Sonja Greiner from @haskoliislands.bsky.social and mapping magma intrusions at Eystrahorn and Borgarfjörður Eystri in often windy but mostly perfect conditions! Funded by @ncn.gov.pl #CBKPAN
Jippie! Good job @esa.int for extending 13 exciting space missions in full swing! Especially excited for #MarsExpress and its #HRSC camera to continue imaging the surface of #Mars through 2029! 📸 More: www.esa.int/Science_Expl...

Another revision of our 27-author review paper of #Volcano misconceptions resubmitted! Let's hope 4x is a charm! 🙏🏼🌋
So sad for victims of another #volcano eruption at Mount #Dukono. When abroad always check with local authorities, here MAGMA Indonesia and #PVMBG They have set #Dukono at Alert Level 2 and advise a 4 km exclusion zone around its crater for months now. magma.esdm.go.id/v1/gunung-ap...

We have flown ample times to the Moon and still have so much to learn! #Artemis 2 astronauts have been collecting geological observations of preset targets at the farside, including colors, boundaries between terrains, and fresh impact craters. #NASA has a blog summary ⬇️ www.nasa.gov/wp-content/u...
We are going back and beyond the #Moon! Fingers crossed for a successful launch and safe flight for the #Artemis II astronauts! While going around the Moon, they are scheduled to record geological observations of the lunar surface, exciting!
✅ #Artemis II update: countdown has started for launch. Liftoff of the crewed lunar mission is scheduled for 1 April 23:24 BST/00:24 CEST 2 April. NASA reports currently 80% chance of favourable weather conditions (pics: NASA & ESA/S.Corvaja) See go.nasa.gov/4sL4j3x @exploration.esa.int
After months of silence Piton de la Fournaise #volcano is at it again, this time with unusual small pyroclastic flows from local collapse near the vent. Good luck to OVPF colleagues monitoring the situation 👍🏼🌋
Multi-author (27!) review papers are the hardest to revise, especially this one we just resubmitted to @springernature.com J. Applied #Volcanology! Stay tuned for our #volcano misconceptions if accepted 🙏🏼 🌋🌋🌋
On this day my family and I remember our time in #StateCollege @pennstateuniv.bsky.social back in 2020 with #Fulbright and #BAEF and all the great new friends and memories we left with! Thanks!!! 🦃🦃
Activity at Hayli Gubbi began in July when there was an eruption at Erte Ale. Magma propagated 30 km south passing under Hayli Gubbi. Since then, there has been a small plume, quasi-continuous SO2 emissions and uplift. Details in @uk-comet.bsky.social event response report: tinyurl.com/y3nfdfj8

Here's the GVP page of Hayli Gubbi in Ethiopia: volcano.si.edu/volcano.cfm?.... Plume from the eruption can be seen in this Aqua/MODIS image cross the Red Sea to the Arabian Peninsula. #eruption #volcano
An explosive #eruption of Hayli Gubbi #volcano, located SE of Erta'Ale in the Afar Rift (Ethiopia), began at ~08:30 UTC on Nov 23. Eruption onset was fortuitously captured by a @planet.com overpass at 08:31 UTC. Hayli Gubbi has no record of Holocene eruptions. Toulouse VAAC reporting ash to ~15 km.
I've never been, so I thought 2026 may be good to attend #LPSC in Texas. By restricting academic freedom through abiding an executive order they have effectively lost their prime #Space #science meeting position. This is not ok, you won't see me or my science there. I hope no one submits.
Choosing to go to LPSC now that they've doubled down on banning any content about making the field a better place for underrepresented scientists? That would be rewarding this behavior and make the field even more unsafe! Just a thought!

Working at a #Space #Science institution with governmental ánd industrial connections we live this tension every day. We have to continue convincing that having science in the driver's seat of space exploration is prime.
Scientific inquiry must guide and shape this next wave of space exploration go.nature.com/3M5k4l7
Thanks @astro-slawosz.bsky.social for visiting us at #CBKPAN to return the patch of the 1st Pole in space and add your own #IGNIS patch having been as 2nd Pole in space! Ready to inspire a new generation of our students! 🚀🌖 @science.esa.int
I have trouble seeing how these felsic veins and dykes at Austurhorn #Icelqnd could have come in by pyroclastic processes and not flow of a fluid magma at 2-3km depth? Any papers to suggest @fabianwadsworth.bsky.social @htuffen.bsky.social or others working on tuffisite veins et al?
The #LASI7 post-conf fieldtrip in SE #Iceland was a blast! On day 1 Gudmundur Omar took us into the heart of #Geitafell, once a central #volcano. We saw the gabbro intrusion that once sat at 2-3 km depth, and the most impressive sheet intrusion complex above that once fed #lava flows!
The stage is set! Ready to start #LASI7 #Iceland edition tonight in #Hveragerdi! @iavcei.bsky.social
How does lava sound when it comes to the surface of the Earth? Listen to a lava flow oozing out of its effusive vent high on the southwestern side of #Etna, 28 August 2025. That day no visits by tourists were allowed on the site, which permitted this (relatively) clean recording
You can't undo robust scientific consensus even if you tried. It is a well-proven #fact: Earth's #climate is changing, and that change is human-made. To all American scientists standing up to this attempt: global #academia is with you 💪🏼🌍 #climatecrisis
