V/H/S/94: Not the strongest entry overall or the weakest. Once again Timo Tjahanto makes the best use of the format. "The Subject" takes the horror elements inherent to cyberpunk to the extreme. Equal parts horrific and rad as fuck.

Took a lot of different showrunners pushing on their various productions at Cartoon Network to get names in the end credits of the people who actually animated the shows in overseas studios. "If we credit them they'll get full of themselves and start asking for more money" Seems games are similar.

I've always liked SHUTTER ISLAND, but it wasn’t until fairly recently that I realized how brilliant it is. Scorsese is the master of immersing you in the world of the characters, in finding truth within a narrative–and here it's the actual text of the thing.

I was not expecting DRACULA 1979 to be genuinely funny. Two moments got legit gut laughs from me. Donald Pleasance grabbing another crucifix as back up, and Laurence Olivier saying “bye” before the final confrontation.

As I watch more DRACULA movies, I'm realizing the reason I gravitate to the FCC version (aside from it being one of the best movies ever) is that it nails the balance of the Count's malevolent and romantic sides.

DRACULA (1979): Coppola's is still my favorite but this one is pretty high up there. Big fan of how the sets and costumes are almost exclusively monochromatic, giving the color film a distinct B&W feel. Olivier and Pleasance's performances are great fun.
