Reminder if you're voting early in the municipal elxn: you don't have to vote for the full number of councillors, trustees, etc. You can simply vote for the ones you want. For instance, my town has 6 council spots but only 3 candidates I want to see on council. So only 3 boxes ticked. #BCPoli
Government should focus on turning down the heat, not cranking the thermostat. Let's look for ways at the local level to resolve conflict around new homes, parking issues, and space on streets. That's why I support pre-approved designs that residents actually want. #yyj #yyjpoli #bcpoli

We find the range of candidate questionnaires incredibly helpful. Do you?

I hope you caught the Oak Bay Mayoral debate this morning! Thanks to CFAX to hosting and moderating. Yes, I did say that Oak Bay deer have better access to family planning than Oak Bay residents. Many don't have family doctors, and Island Sexual Health is in Saanich. #yyj #yyjpoli #bcpoli

(1/3) Tomorrow is the 1st advance voting day for the 2026 General Local Election! Advance voting runs from 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Monterey Recreation Centre (1442 Monterey Avenue). Parking is limited at Monterey Recreation Centre! Plan if you’re driving or walk, carpool, cycle or hop on transit.
As you head to the polls: Vote for the candidates who have earned your vote. For example, if that's only 4 candidates for Council, you don't have to vote for all 6 spots. Or if you only care about school board, you don't have to vote for everybody else.

Happy to see a funding commitment from the NDP on this! It's been sitting vacant for something like six years now, and we haven't come close to building anything since Council killed the last proposal in 2011. Congrats to @dianagibson.bsky.social for her successful advocacy! #yyj #yyjpoli #bcpoli

Grateful to have the opportunity to participate in the Oak Bay All Candidates tonight! I think it’s very clear which candidates have a vision for Oak Bay. I find it unfortunate that Mayor Murdoch used his time to spread misinformation about my answers to the LivableCRD survey. #yyj #yyjpoli
Oak Bay for All@oakbayforall.bsky.social · 2w agoFirst up: opening statements. Who are you and why are you running? Questions will be asked in random order after that. Timekeepers in the front row to keep us on track for the next 2ish hours. Random order for closing statements too "what do you want audience to leave with tonight"?
