Somehow in the rush of traveling, I missed that Yayoi Kusama also died. The art-shaped hole in the world that is Dolly and Tim and Yayoi all together feels like it is punching in miniature into my heart.

I went to a gynecologist seeking treatment for periods lasting 60+ days in which I would lose cups of blood every week. She told me that if I lost ten pounds that would “reset my hormonal system” and the issue would be resolved.

I received the singular honor today of having a waitress tell me my order choices were amazing. (French onion soup, butter and sugar crepe, jasmine tea.)

Birthday self portrait. Yesterday I turned 43. I feel like I missed my birthday this year, psychically—I couldn’t plan or process or rejoice or give myself the type of care I typically do. However, I was well loved and celebrated by many beloved humans ❤️.

Today I participated in an art project in which my toddler took progressively bigger and bigger spoons out of our silverware drawer—starting with a baby teaspoon and ending with a serving spoon—in an effort to convince me that he CAN AND SHOULD eat fifth yogurt today, mama.
This morning Chaos Child slammed the living room door with me and @padnick.bsky.social on the other side, then opened the door long enough to throw his diaper through, then slammed it again.
