Once inspired the NYT Science Times to "try harder.” Now I post about my cats from my perch in the Witch District of Minneapolis. she/her Stop an ICE-inflicted eviction: https://givebutter.com/corcoran-neighbor-fund-2026

It’s the 50th anniversary of the time Eric Clapton went onstage and told everyone who wasn’t British to leave the room and the country, and was the impetus for Rock Against Racism

I wrote about how weird and bad it is to have a future AG going around claiming he'll make Dobbs "permanent in every single state"—unless he understands Dobbs to be a national abortion ban, and thinks his job is to force states to comply

Todd Blanche Is Claiming That He Can Ban Abortion In Any State

As he fights to be confirmed as attorney general, Blanche is trying to appease Christian-right groups with wild legal theories about restricting abortion.

Ask for what you really want. For example: don’t paint yourself into a corner where some namby pamby politician can claim to support “reproductive rights” when you want to ensure that everyone who needs an abortion can get one without any obstacles

At least a few people who listen to this report are going to look into becoming couriers themselves — bringing mifepristone and misoprostol to the U.S. for distribution to states where abortion has been criminalized. Highly recommend (and there’s a transcript, for the podcast-averse):

My neighbor who loves work was laid off a few months ago and is visiting food shelves now after being cut off from food assistance while seeking a new job. He’s also taking in a boarder and doing odd jobs for pay. Feels very Depression era.

Rollins: "For those who love work and celebrate work and want people to work and not be on food stamps, it's a pretty big win when we've moved 5 million people off food stamps, y'all."
