I was streaming over my self hosted site for movie night yesterday, and it was having more issues than normal. I checked the logs, it was because Meta was pummelling my poor little Raspberry Pi with over 100 requests a minute. It was scraping code from my git website to train their AI. Thanks Meta!

For how much work gets put into video DRM (blocking screenshare, lowering quality on linux, no .mp4 downloads of movie purchases, HDCP), it never actually works. Any movie or TV show has a 4K torrent within hours of its digital release. What's the point? It just punishes those who don't torrent.

It's exciting that people are moving to Bluesky since it's an open source platform. I'm interested to see where it goes.
What happens if (or arguably, when) Procreate enshitifies? Will people be able to back up an old version? Prevent it from updating? Pirate it? You can't do that on iOS.
Feels like software companies these days depend on the helplessness of their users as they enshitify. We really gotta get off of proprietary software. Time and time again we've been shown that it can't ever be trusted, it leaves us vulnerable.
Mobile gaming is so horrendously bad, it deeply frightens me. I don't know what can be done to save it besides regulations, the best grossing games are all comically exploitative. I recently bought a nice controller for my phone, but I think I'll be sticking to emulators and older game ports.
