Today we celebrated Hannah with (complete with leis 🌺) as she heads off to start her PhD in Hawaiʻi. She has been an incredible lab manager, teammate, problem solver, and all-around wonderful human. Excited to see what comes next. ❤️

Submitting final grades for 100+ students feels like closing a long novel—familiar characters, half-remembered plotlines, and inside jokes no one else would get. It all collapses into a spreadsheet, but what sticks are the thank-yous, notes, and small moments of connection. Happy end of semester!

Tonight we registered our twins for kindergarten. What happens in K–12 classrooms shapes how young people question and understand the world. What happens in higher ed builds on that. Tonight feels personal. But it’s a reminder of why education matters and why I’m grateful to contribute to it.
