Last year, Rockstar was accused of firing over 30 workers for engaging in trade union activity. The studio said they were let go for leaking confidential information. The tribunal between the two parties begins today. I'll be attending and will do my best to provide updates over the coming weeks.

in a sea of AI hot takes i think i’ll add another. i think the biggest demographic for using it are people who are convinced they can will anything into existence. LLMs can tell you something isn’t possible but if you push long and hard and confidently incorrectly enough, they’ll just start lying.

the default end date on the redundancy form was october 31st. i still have 87/294 hours of annual leave, plus mandatory 35 christmas hours. adjusting 87 for pro rata 49+35=84. october 14th as my last day? october 16th if they think 35 should be pro rata too? 49+24=73? either way, 1 month left :(

the ai bubble is awesome because you know 99% of these motherfuckers who are saying its inevitable and polluting the waters in all sorts of fields aren't running a local model so the minute they lose access to the big providers the world will instantly get more peaceful

university court decides today if after all these years of stress whether they’re going to make me redundant. i played their game and put in for voluntary redundancy since they were going to make me take compulsory redundancy anyway. if they reject it i’m gonna laugh/cry. i just want to be done.

it occurs to me this predating sonic adventure 2 by about 6 years is probably exactly where the line comes from. “some flight. no peanuts, no stallone movie. i’m outta here”. “talk about low-budget flights. no food or movies? i’m outta here.” i wonder if there’s a longer lineage to the bit.
