Please do not forget, as you sift through the daily shitstorm of bad news, that we deserve so much better than this, that we can have so much more than this, that another world is still possible despite all racist and elitist creeps trying to kill it

Reminder that it doesn't matter how good your actors are, your dubs will always be missing something if you refuse to invest proper money and time in scripts. The current best rates and turnarounds for adapters are so laughably bare minimum that the industry has been bleeding talent for decades.

Happy 40th anniversary to the Legend of Zelda series! Want to know more about the English localizations of these games and who brought them to us? Here's a thread! Starting with Dan Owsen, who worked on Link to the Past, Link's Awakening, and Ocarina of Time.

it's true. i can only list the manga i translate for Jump+ on my private resume. one of the series was nominated for an award (in Japan) and i love it. if i were allowed to hype it on social media, not only would that boost my morale, it would probably improve international sales 🤷🏻‍♀️

Desperation in isolation. PTSD shrank my world to often just online spaces. I sometimes feel trapped in a cell of my own making, and the only lifeline is a tenuous set of digital threads connecting me to people outside my little world. I miss the freedom of a healthy mind

starting to suspect that a lot of people approach media with the mindset that "i am smarter and put more thought into this story than the creator" and that may be conditionally true but perhaps that instinct is sabotaging you, as well?
