My mom told me that Padfoot died. This is my fondest memory: It was late fall in Alaska and he was running hell-bent on frozen Beluga Lake, ears flapping in the wind. Looking back on this shot years later, I'm struck that I can't tell if he was running away or towards me. Homer, AK. October 2012.
